I reckon there is a pact by Koch, Kevin Osborn, KT and Ken to stick around to the end of 2018 to finish off the job they decided to start in 2012 together as a group and KT and Kevin started 12 months earlier. Burgo was also in that pact but he got an offer too good to refuse.

7 years as CEO in public companies is a good run unless you effectively own it like Murdoch. I'm not sure how long KT wants to stay but it's only the big financially sound clubs who seem to let CEO's stick around for a decade or more and usually a flag is involved.

Bucky had over 12 years 4 seasons at the Magpies 8 at the Power finished after the flag
Brian Cook 9 season at West Coast 2 flags and 19 so far at the cats for 3 flags
Trevor Nisbet 19 and counting at West Coast 8th season was a flag
Gary Pert 11 seasons at Collingwood 4th season was a flag
Trigg 13 seasons at the crows no flag. Sanders was there for 11 seasons took 7 seasons
Andrew Ireland 12 seasons at Brisbane and they won a flag in last season - 2001
Myles Baron-Bayes 6 seasons at the Swans and won flag in his second but Kelvin Templeton had been there 7 seasons before that.
Andrew Ireland 8 seasons at the Swans and counting and won a flag in the third season
Ian Robson was appointed late 2004 at Hawthorn and left at of 2009 season after falling out with Kennett and got a flag in 4th season of 5 at Hawks
Stuart Fox his success at Hawks left at end of 2016 after 7 seasons and 3 flags went to run the MCG.

The other clubs tend to turn them over after 4 or 5 seasons but there are exceptions
Campbell Rose Doggies 2002-2010 seasons
Ben Gale at Richmond has been there since 2009
Dave Matthews has been at GWS since before they entered the AFL
Steve Rosch has been at Freo since mid 2008
Peter Jackson was at Essendon 1996 to 2009 with a flag in 2000 but they have had 3 CEO's since then.

yep that's the year mentioned that sits in my memory, I guess unrest and failures could bring that forward, surely too many community and club/sponsor initiatives in risky phases to walk away early :eek::praying:

Koch has said he wants to be around for the 150th anniversary in 2020 but first talked about that in early 2016. Ken's contract is, and Burgo's contract was until 2018. KT and Kevin Osborn have never talked about 2020 publicly. None of the other execs have talked about 2020 publicly.

This game is the Sunday twilight clash with non-contender Collingwood at Adelaide Oval where Thomas has dealt with the fans’ discontent in losing their “Game Day Village” at the Memorial Drive tennis courts.

Start playing footy like manic bastards who'll give their life before they lose a game. Until these sissy cnuts stop focusing on their beauty therapies & start playing gutsy fukn footy then these are just words from a panicky CEO.. Get dirty ya girls with fukc me boots rather than footy boots !! Oh yeah if they stick up for each other on field when the likes of Mr Potato head rag tags ya all that would be a nice bonus.

Based off one game where as a unit we got smashed? Yeh sure crucify the guy who hasn't played at this level for nearly two seasons, who could have been picked throughout the year against lesser opponents to get him back up to scratch at AFL level..not saying he would be in our best starting line up, but let's be realistic about where he's at and why.

There's been no rhyme or reason to Monfries' treatment this season.

We'd basically gotten to the stage of assuming the line had been put through him given how many times he'd been ignored while the likes of White, Neade, Young, Toumpas and Ah Chee received their umpteenth chances, then boom.

Back for a Showdown.

A game in which the stats suggest we should've lost by anywhere between 20-30 goals.

Sure he looked cooked, but so did 15 others.

It sickens me that will be our final memory of a guy who came here and gave his all, including 2 of the greatest individual moments of our AFL history.

It absolutely stinks. On Sportsday SA they asked Nicks why we are dropping forwards and backs (Trengove) when it was the mids who failed. Nicks' answer was that the mids have held up well this year in general. WTF. What a terrible way for Monfries to finish his career at port :mad:

That was the excuse after essendon, after Melbourne and now after Adelaide at what point after 3 shithouse performances in the past 8 weeks is it no longer valid to say "generally" Nicksy..?!

Never mind tell me more about Impeys pressures acts Kern pls

This is awfully easy to say from our position on the sofas and swivel chairs of this so-so city, but 'brutal' would've been telling the likes of Impey, Trengove and Pittard they've played their last games for Port Adelaide.

Rest of the year in the twos and then shipped for whatever we can get.

That's not us though. Faith in the group. Just need to work harder. Believe me we know, etc.

To the point where it's completely meaningless. I saw a bit of Question Time today on my break and some MP used the term "hard-working Australians", probably for the zillionth time in her career. It's hollow garbage and it means nothing.

We've lost the midfield in all 8 of our losses + the Saints game. So 9 out of 20.
