Thought crossed my mind too. Mentioned it amongst my mates. Hell I'm turning cynical.

The club, KT, have to watchful that our crowds do not spiral. They can't just blow trumpets about the membership number.

I reckon they're setting us up for a mini-rebuild under Ken. Next year will be about getting games into Marshall, Howard, Frampton, Atley, Bonner, etc.

With this contract they've essentially given him the assurance that they're happy for him take a 'risk' on younger players next year without having worry about his job security. Will be very interesting to see how we line up round 1 next year.

You could be right. Ken said in his interview last night that the young players that were brought in late in the season would probably be starting best 22 players from round 1 next season.

The way we do this is key though. If it's a midtable finish with a young side playing moderately interesting football - then i'll probably be able to deal. If it's midtable, moderately interesting with Sam Gray having it kicked over his head, an undersized defence getting pilloried by Drew Petrie - then it's obviously garbage.

That is new news and must have been released overnight or this morning because it was not what Hinkley said on 5AA last night nor what was reported in this morning's press. I checked the website this morning and did not see that bulletin up.

On 5AA yesterday afternoon Ken Hinkley was quite clear that his contract negotiations were continuing and from Rucci's article in this morning's press he actually said, 'that it is now a discussion between the football club and my manager- and that will take care of itself very quickly I imagine.' At no stage did Ken Hinkley mention that a deal had been finalised.

All I can suggest is that someone, quite possibly Hinkley's manager, leaked the 2021 deal to Caroline Wilson before Hinkley went on air yesterday.

The timing of that announcement has lead to confusion as you would think that the Club would release a statement before the Coach went on air so that Hinkley could confirm it himself. It was obviously OK for wilson to know but not the Membership.

We have already done a mini rebuild under Ken. We have added some great youngsters the last few years.

There is no reason to think they won't be better next year.
