I get the impression that the strain of office has caught up with KT. When he first took on the CEO role he appeared far more decisive than he does these days. It is as if he is trying to second guess the crowd's reaction to everything he says. It is as if he is permanently fixed in damage control mode and he does not want to say something that he feels might come back to bite him in the arse.

I have no doubt that KT's heart is in the right place but I wonder if his 'use by date' is pretty close. The question is of course if KT did pull the pin would we get anyone better?
If he is burnt out, then we would find someone better. The real question is, do we pay enough to get the right person??

John James cut his pay in half to take on the Port job because he was a Port fan. Would a non Port fan who is the best/right candidate be prepared to do that?? Would Hitaf Rasheed be prepared to take a big pay cut to take the job??

He had some VERY low hanging fruit to pick early on.

KT is no PR professional. He’s just muddled. I sat next to him during a pitch he was making back in February 2015, after five minutes I had to interrupt and take over as the ‘victim’ was already looking at his watch. Andrew Hunter has said much the same after a negotiation in Hangzhou. If KT was to invest elsewhere the hours he spends in the Land of Muddle he’d be able to do ten times as much.
True, PR Boffin, muddler, bullshitter, useless. You got it

He is hopeless as a CEO. Watch The Business or any of those type of shows to see how a proper CEO of a Listed company answers questions. They stay completely on message and rarely look phased as they know business valuations can be swung on their every word. Whilst you don't expect the CEO of a football club to be quite as steely as it is a more emotive field, he/she needs to have those type of characteristics. Keith doesn't have it and it just comes across as lacking conviction, disingenuous or outright lying.

I'll ask her next time I see her. Can I tell her you will write an appropriate reference? ;)

If you can put up with the interviewer this is a good listen...

Listened to it last year.

Liked the reference to Clarrie Hoffman who took over as time keeper from Frank Goddard. I reckon they did sixty or seventy years between them. Frank was a slack arse though he actually missed a game once. ;)

I reckon Cornes should stick to asking the questions rather than trying to answer them.

He seems a great bloke, but as a CEO he seems to be falling well short of what we need. I am sure there are plenty of invisible things he smashes that I can't see, but the visible stuff is objectively shit (China, sponsors, contracts)!
So much so that I cannot see what changing him for nearly anyone with an MBA and the right connections would alter.

Having said that, I am as clueless as most about how hard it is for him.

But **** me he can carry a bag of ice like a mofo

All I'll say is, careful what you wish for.

John James was a CEO with an MBA and the right connections.
Andrew Fagan is a CEO with an MBA and the right connections.

KT's biggest flaw, is also his biggest strength. He comes from football. He understands the culture of a football club.

I think this puts an added level of pressure on him when delivering the messages from the board.

That's all well and good, but as the question goes on KT, what has he done for us lately? I'm more than happy to be proven wrong on this, I just can't see what successes he has manged that (even the others named) couldn't.

Our culture is trash atm and the supporter base is despondent, this 'football guy' shit on co-captains and has messed up the message on PB's, 'making community proud' and the AO experience.
We have poor sponsorship.
We have long undeserved contracts for management.
China is not delivering dividends.
We lose money every year despite a large supporter base, that would be the envy of 2/3rds or our comp..

Where are we succeeding?

Could it actually BE much worse with another CEO? It could possibly be a shedload better (though I am, of course, no corporate head hunter)!

I didn't say he shouldn't be held to account, just that there is a type of CEO out there that would not be a good fit for us.

Don’t worry ... we’ll find him.

I'd do it ;)

And Andrew Fagan’s club is in a deep hole footy wise at the moment.

If we were winning games would there be this concern with KT?

Are we any different to all other clubs when losing all the time in wanting to tear the place down?

Yes coach reappointment a big mistake ..... but let's not do the baby/bath water thing.

Having said that I don't know shit about boardrooms and CEOs ...... for those on here who hate KT... do you have a successor in mind and can you articulate what they CAN do better.

Of course, but if you look at all the OTHER things a CEO does, they feed into a winning culture and they are lacking.

I don't know that anyone hates KT. It is similar to Hinkley in that it isn't about having the perfect candidate selected to replace him. What he has been doing isn't working. It's time to move on to someone else.

Where did I say that?
You brought Fagan up in a thread about KT.
If it wasn’t to compare their records and achievements, why would you?

No, I replied to a post that mentioned Fagan in it already.
That isn’t bringing him up. Do your homework next time.
Having an MBA means nothing.

No, you chimed in and talked about his record. Don’t slither off. Either you meant to draw a comparison or it was a completely pointless post.

I know an MBA means nothing, that’s how little I rate KT’s ‘achievements’ , so stick that in your petty passive aggressive pipe and smoke it!

Doesn't everyone have an MBA these days? The next wave of millenials will have one micro chipped into their brains. I would prefer someone with a MFA, Master of Football Administration awarded by the School of Hard Knocks. Then again we would probably get a Master of **** All.
