I know it's unfair and we love him now, but read the opening pages of this thread for a bit of a laugh at a few of our expenses. ;)

You were a bastion of reason and levelheadedness as always in that thread, Ford. It's no wonder you're a mod. ;)

And I had good reason to dislike him more than most - I was at the 1984 GF. ;)

I'd still love to know how Rob Lucas called the anti-Haysman coup and Thomas' resultant appointment months before it happened.

I can't bring myself to re-read that thread. From memory I think I compared his appointment to J Edgar Hoover being appointed Chairman of The Black Panther Party.

That thread is awesome. I was having a barney with Schulzenfest under our previous user names....

GoPower needs to say sorry to footyhead07.

Ahahaha, glad I kept my nose out of that one!
Hehe, you and me both.
I can probably say that in my case it would have been more arse than class. :p

With KT's current rate of progress I can envision him one day being considered (or landing) the big job in AFL house. Brian Cook has been linked to the AFL CEO position before for his work at Geelong and I think KT's work here at Port has been similar. Throw in all his negotiations with the SANFL and he also has experience dealing with other footballing bodies that would be required for the AFL CEO.

I'm not suggesting it will happen in a couple of years, but I think 8-10 years down the track it is a real possibility.

Given what my new avatar is, I thought this was entirely appropriate.

KT would be too professional for the CEO of AFL position.

He'd want to fix all the ridiculous policies, and the way in which they do most things.

Similar to what Bucky Cunningham probably would have if he'd been appointed in Adrian Anderson's position a few years back.

The AFL administration wouldnt stand for blokes with integrity coming in and fixing some of the inequities and apparent bias.

Casual Keith on 5AA. This is worth a good listen even a repeat.

Lots of things could be listed but will just mention a few

He was realistic about what the club wanted. 1st showdown, Anzac round home game to keep what we have been developing over a decade, Brisbane @ home to celebrate 10 years of the flag and carlton @ home to celebrate 1914 and beating them for championship of Oz. It was a bonus the Carlton game was a Friday, he is smart enough to know if we put in a request for Friday and saturday nights they would have been wasted requests.

We ended up with 7 night or twilight games!! 1 Fri night + 2 Sat twilight + 3 Sat night + 1 Sun twilight.

KT says he even loves the bye!!! The club is planning something for that weekend that the AFL doesn't even know about.

The bye is May 17-18 weekend. Could it be some sort of home coming event to celebrate when we were formed in 1870 around mid May and bringing back ALL or past players from every grade of the club??? I hope so or something even better. I have no idea what, but mid May says celebrating our founding.

He isn't worried about not selling out corporates like the crows. We have been concentrating on the memberships at AO. Already sold 1,000 more than for 2013 . Sounds like we are around 50-60% and will probably sell 80% plus. As he said there is a lot of inventory to sell.

Great explanation of the Magpies negotiations and how our whole community has been re-engaged by the Power and looking to do the same for the Power. James or Haysman wouldn't have been able to get the deal he got.

As I posted in the other thread, the old Sam Cooke song goes - You've got to accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative, latch on to the affirmative, but don't mess with mister in-between. As Sir Alex Ferguson would say - Well Done! He did all that.

When talking about bye week, Round 9, KT spoke of a 'new strategic direction' for the Club, and what is planned falls into that category.
He emphasised that two Adelaide Oval matches (Freo in Round 8 and Hawks in Round 10) book-end the bye-week and set the stage for the event.

Membership: He confirmed the total this year was 41,500, that for 2014 it is already 25,000 and the target is 50,000.

ANZAC Round: He was into talking about Bob Quinn and his Military Medal (and you and I know that he has become personally involved in this recognition project, REH)... and then Rowe did one of his frequent annoying interruptions and threw KT on to another track.

The only thing left wanting with what was otherwise a great 23 minutes of radio was the standard of the interviewers.

Works on the Commodore 64?

Old school ftw

oh man that brings back memories

I had the Vic 20 with the powerful external cassette deck reader
