It wouldn't matter who was in charge between 1997-2012, we were still getting reamed financially with a resultant bargain basement spend.

The fact we were able to assemble a box of Williams, Walsh, Bailey, Clarkson and Pittman - with Russell heading up the fitness department - in the lead-up to the '04 flag is a credit to all concerned.

Just read the email. You can tell he is somewhat peeved, and so he should be. The SANFL created the problem with their divisive approach to Port Adelaide. I believe they forgot that they were the licence owners, and the negativity on Port meant they had to pay the price. They continuously cut their noses to spite their face. Time for the SANFL to go away. They are irrelevant in my view. They should pay the price for their mismanagement of football in SA but have put themselves in a position where the two AFL teams will pay. Soon 90% of SA will hate them.
