I obviously don't know if it was KT's decision alone to send Kern and Voss on end of season `improvement ' courses, but you do have to wonder if it would have happened if the guts didn't drop out of the on field results from the 11 - 4 situation.
Let's just hope it's not too little too late.

It would have happened earlier if Ken wasn't so much of a home boy and doesn't like O's travel.

Clarkson has been going to the US and UK for years, Simpson and Buckley have gone to a couple of the same overseas courses and others have as well.

The club the last couple of years have got teaching professionals - yes even a prof - involved in helping the coaches become better teachers. At the members convention they went through what these outsiders do.

A lot will depend on how we start the season. If we start the season well, with a better gameplan, people will probably jump back on board.
I have a feeling we will start the season slower, all wet the bed and then end up having a decent season.

How far we go work that time will tell

Ken is still trying to work out whether 2+2 = 4.

Clarkson, Simpson are good coaches staying on their toes.
Buckley hasn't til this season but has had significant challenges.

I get the feeling sending our guys isn't to keep them on their toes... But because they need to become better coaches first. After five seasons. They are going to learn to walk and the others are already running.

‘That flog from Norwood’ is back.
Dear Member and Supporters,

I suspect you wonder some days whether your footy club is listening to you.
And each time a concern or frustration is raised and seemingly ignored, the overwhelming urge is to protest louder.
I think 2019 will be marked as the year of the deafening roar.

The rumbling from our core has rolled steadily through the disappointments of failed campaigns in 2015/16, to the moment West Coast broke our collective hearts in overtime in 2017, before spilling over following our inability to capitalise on the powerful start to the 2018 season.

The anger and frustration has been broadly and colorfully distributed but appears now squarely focused on the senior coach and the Norwood flog who employed him!!
You see, not every piece of information has gone through to the keeper!

......

Somewhere along the road to greater growth and prosperity…I’ve allowed us to drop the ball.
It hasn’t been a huge shift in mindset. The club is still filled and surrounded by people who care a lot.
But it’s there. I know it and more importantly, you know it.
And we’ve got to fix it.

This is about more than how we play each week.
It’s about putting our members back at the heart of our club.
To talk less and listen more.
We’re not going to agree on everything, and we’re not always going to be able to do everything we want to do.
But Port Adelaide is about winning and it’s about its putting its community first.
I promise you, we’re going to do more of that.
So stay tuned.

He gets it, maybe finally..
I don't doubt the sincerity, but feel it's misplaced to connect our inconsistency to our younger players. It seems like their heads are still in the sand if they think that had been the issue. Supporters will come back when they can believe in the direction we're going.

I thought he was going to announce he was stepping down. Alas. I'm left feeling like nothing has changed.

Braveish. Brave would be stepping down.
