Apologies for any inconvenience. We will try to find a replacement.
He also may have run off to the GC looking for that security, then we wouldn't be talking about sacking him. We are are down on membership and attendances and if he stays, it will get much worse before it gets better. He will need to win at least 8 out of the first 11 to gain members support back and not lose any more. The irony of the early contract extension for Ken is that if they had waited a year when we were 11-4, how would the result have been different?
He would probably have a longer contract with no conditions.
Whose replacement? KT or Hinkley?Koch is already looking actively (and quite publicly) wooing his replacement...

That makes it sound like next time he is going to do a Facebook poll...From 7.27 after the discussion about co-captaincy and KT said we are reviewing it at the end of the year, KT then says;
What the last few months has made me really think about
is, what do we take forward? Whatta we, what, that ensures
that we remain true to who we are, but also be competitive
and relevant now. And that, that is, (pause).
Here is the big learning Baz, right, and this is gonna be the
big change. We've done that, largely separated, And it feels
I reckon very often, that we're not listening, or you guys aren't
understanding what's important to us.
We need to find a way to make those decisions together, and
that's not an easy thing, it's not always possible, but we can do
a much better job at it and I umh gotta find a mechanism to
enable us to have those conversions in the right way, where we
decide together what goes forward. somethings we can't control,
we can't manage, we know that, but a lot of things we can.
So that's really what's behind all this thinking. So when we are
celebrating our 150th, its a celebration of everything that we are.
The old and the new. Past and future. And we're all comfortable
with how we're moving forward. That's really where my mind's at.
I'm not sure this says that KT fully understands what is pi**ing us off. He is trying, but he has backed in someone who isn't getting results, so he is trying to understand how we can explain what and why he is trying to do, and if we don't improve like he thinks we should and we should expect.
Somewhere later on in the talk he says he isn't resigning and is going to be around for awhile.
Looks bang on to me.It seems that what those who currently work for the club believe is that our traditional culture of winning is no longer realistic or relevant and they have accepted that we are small market franchise number two and being middle of the pack is winning. What they are struggling to come to grips with is how to convince the members of this new reality so that we can stop being so ******* difficult.
Reading between the lines a bit - happy to be corrected if off the mark.

Besides, seeing you attended, I didn't here any body ask KT why Ken can't structure his forward line consistently, why Lycett was was dropped while in very good form and what did Sutcliffe do at the Magpies to warrant selection.
Exactly my point. These aren't questions that he should be asked nor expected to answer.
Kt is an excellent ceo, not in brain cunningham league, but not far off. The one thing the club didnt well and that was the co captains. Kt should have been ontop of it and disallowed ken and the coaches to impliment it. Coaches are going to try everything to win, they dobt care about culture or port traditions, its all about wining, which is what we all want. But kt allowing the co captains to be passed is a black stain on his excellent record. Port has one captain and he wears no 1. You can have as many other leaders as you want.
Im sure kt will rectify this next year, our 150 years celebration call for only one captain. End of story

Power Plus was making the point that we come on here but don't have the courage to say it to KT's face. These aren't questions that he should be asked nor expected to answer.
Fair point but we were 11-4 in the first week of July and was effectively contracted for another three months. The irony of the early contract extension for Ken is that if they had waited a year when we were 11-4, how would the result have been different?

Does it?At the end of the day, it looks like we will be going into the 2020 season with the same Board and same coach
Since 1st November 2018, Wanganeen has replaced Fiachi, Darren Cahill filled the long standing vacant 10th directorship and recently Ross Haslam has resigned and been replaced by Andrew Day.At the end of the day, it looks like we will be going into the 2020 season with the same Board and same coach, so it's one of those situations where we try and make something good out of a bad situation.
Not happy but we love the club. Not nice when you are taken for granted.
Well it's a good start.Since 1st November 2018, Wanganeen has replaced Fiachi, Darren Cahill filled the long standing vacant 10th directorship and recently Ross Haslam has resigned and been replaced by Andrew Day.
I have written several times that the board has to be transitioned out over 2, 3 or 4 years with 2 or 3 changes per year.
If Holly Ranson goes and studies in USA with her Fullbright scholarship, their academic year starts on first Tuesday of September after Labor Day holiday, she should resign and that would be 4 changes in 12 months. That's about as good as you are going to get.
Kochie and the board like you say should have been onto the co captains and squashed it. Think everybody is to blame, but ultinately it falls on kt shoes, as he is running the joint, and needs to toughen up and stop making everybody happy. I see him as being a better ceo after this eposide. Kt has an excellent footy brain, he played 300 games, he needs to use it a bit more and be tough on the coaches, players and admin. Thats ultimately what us supporters want. We all know we cant win every game, but if we lose, we want everybody to be unhappy about it and do it the port adelaide wayIt should not have been up to KT alone, we have this guy running the show who tells us all about Port Adelaide and how he followed them as a kid yet he and his fellow Board Members did nothing. Now the damage is done KT is taking the flak while a bag of wind tell us, 'we know we have to do better.' In a way I do not even hold Hinkley entirely responsible as he is a 'blow in' from Victoria with no idea about what it was like to be part of the glory years and what made them so. Our Chairman on the other hand claims to have supported Port as a kid so he should have known better, he had the power to stop it but he did nothing and that is unforgivable.
As I have posted before you cannot recitify the Co Captain situation, once you break 149 years of history it is broken. The really sad thing is we have tossers running the show who could not see that.

They are really bad ones.Co captains on top of Ken’s absurd extension is reason enough for KT to get the arse. He’s not in control of the club.
