Fun fact: in Libya ‘going to rome’ is a metaphor for death.

Libya used to be an Italian colony and throughout the 1920’s was in rebellion against the Italian army. In order to break the rebellion the government would approach tribal leaders and invite them to fly to Rome for ’negotiations’. They were then thrown off the plane mid flight over the Sahara or Mediterranean as a way to breaking the back of the revolt.

This has absolutely nothing to do with KT but you reminded me of this obscure fact

Koch's fingerprints are all over the Hinkley extension, but he won't own that. KT is the fall guy taking the blame for the extension. Ken can't be sacked without someone higher up taking responsibility for it and going as well.

This isn’t how I remember 2017. Koch and Ken had been at odds most of the season because Koch publicly criticised some of our no show performances. Ken didn’t like that or so we were told when the Gold Coast offer came along. My tea leaf read is that the extension was 90% KT and his desire for unity and stability.
