Doesn't everyone have an MBA these days? The next wave of millenials will have one micro chipped into their brains. I would prefer someone with a MFA, Master of Football Administration awarded by the School of Hard Knocks. Then again we would probably get a Master of fu** All.
That’s the point!
He has returned a base level performance as CEO.

No, you chimed in and talked about his record. Don’t slither off. Either you meant to draw a comparison or it was a completely pointless post.

I know an MBA means nothing, that’s how little I rate KT’s ‘achievements’ , so stick that in your petty passive aggressive pipe and smoke it!
Piss off yourself you weed lol .

In my experience a lot of MBAs mean Mediocre But Ambitious.

You brought Fagan up in a thread about KT.
If it wasn’t to compare their records and achievements, why would you?
I think all OGC was doing was reinforcing what Bomber said - just because someone has connections and an MBA doesn't automatically make them any good, Fagan is just a current day example of that.

How many 3rd's did Norwood get in the 1980's when KT played for them and they were probably the best/most talented side? 1983, 1987, 1988, 1989. Then there were the 4ths and 5ths. He just doesn't have the killer Port attitude.

He played for Fitzroy in 87 and 88. Can't really blame him for those years. Won the flag in 82 and 84. 84 was a big year!! His playing career was awesome. It doesn't mean he should be ceo. Sackken.

I don't blame him for any of those finishes, let alone the ones when he was at Fitzroy.

Just that they have an impact on your psyche and how you approach the future.

I know and i largely agree. I just compare his playing career against any of the current players and it obviously stands up. I get that he doesn't want to stand on the toes of the football department... sometimes i wish he would.

You’re talking about KT ... or Hinkley ... or both?

No wonder they’re like Siamese twins.

They had our measure around 86/87 but they definitely werent the most talented side in 88 (I think we kept them to 1 goal at half time in a final) or 89 (from memory they were really quite average that year).

All up, I reckon 2 flags in 1980s was about right for them, although arguably they were good enough to at least make 1 grand final circa 86/87.

Interesting email from the CEO

Mind boggling.

Let's assume the club is working under the assumption that we'll have about 50k members again next year. Now suppose those scarves, landed, cost the club $1-2 each, and membership prices were due to increase, on average, by a modest $10-20 each.

Other than a few dozen facebook mums, is there anyone who can't think of a better way to use that $550k-$1.1M?

I just read that and see things like "The cost of the Footy Express is increasing so much that they can't build it in to memberships anymore, so its now going to be user pays". That reduces the clubs costs, but shifts the cost on to the fans themselves.

If it reeked of desperation anymore I'd be needing a hose to clean my monitor.
"We know what you really don't like Port fans! Those are in the too hard basket, so here's some distractions! And another one! NO! Stop looking over there and scowling at Ken and our co-captains. Please!"

So basically after KT's admission the club dropped the ball and disengaged fans so things have to change, we've got confirmation Ken is staying, Sam Gray and Ryder are gone, we might go back to a single captain and membership prices won't increase and now include a bonus scarf!

There we go. Problems solved.

There will be a real sense of desperation to get the Maggies to a flag. The club needs some good news to sell to us.
