This club, years ago, asked me to contribute to the "premiership fund". I did that for years as they sold it as they needed money for the tools to drive success.

He is probably thinking of Phil Gallagher. He was paid the phantom mark (people thought he was paid a free) by Des Foster and converted to give Norwood the match winner.

He should be angrier at all the Sturt players who kicked the 26 points that cost them the match.

that's basically like Apple taking expected features away from people then charging them for an accessory to get that feature back. imagine having to pay for the club to have 1 captain wearing number 1. we should pay extra for kicks above 40 meters as it stretches out their groins and could lead to expensive surgery.

True but I'd still rather pay a standard yearly fee increase to get what I want than be offered a price freeze on something I don't.

The problem is the value not the price and they are treating the symptom not the cause.

I was at that game and had a good angle to view that kick and it definitely hit the ground and then bounced quickly into Gallagher's hands.

I always hated Des Foster as an umpire and he made a shocking call there but I think it's hard to blame him for it as he had a bad angle on it and it probably looked like a mark from his position.
