Anyone remember a better FAIR tackle than that one of Andy's? Bloody sensational stuff. If Barnesy doesnt award it hit of the week on league Teams I'm on the blower complaining!

Team lifting stuff roo. I dare say it was another turning point in the match. Not only did it switch the players on, but the crowd LOVED it. The G hasn't rocked like that in a looonnng time!

Absolutely brilliant team-lifting tackle. When watching the replay, I rewinded that part over and over again, as well as to see Krakouer's brilliant second and third efforts only seconds prior to THAT tackle. It's so good to see Kellaway bounce back from a very average 2004 that well. :)

Krak's quick hands there were something to behold. He won't get much in the way of stats for it but he intercepted the ball 3 times in about 10 seconds with pure skill!

I couldn't believe it when I saw the crowd figure as only 31,000. the place went off like it was grand final day.

I love Kellaway, he is so Richmond it hurts, and saturday's effort was sublime.

it may sound silly, but I think that he is the real reason behind our resurgence. the man's pulling 20 possessions and 10 marks a week, is inspiring teammates with bursts of pure kellaway brilliance and thrilling Richmond fans Australia-wide.

if he and his brother aren't Richmond hall-of-fame members by the time I'm 50, it'll be a damn shame.

he is an amazing player, if there is a better exponent of one-percent/courageous football in the league, I will eat my hat.

What about Tuck's flying shepherd in the middle of the ground after he gave off the handball...that was just tough & awesome.

i loved that tackle brought the ground into the game and was inspiring stuff. it sounded as if there were atleast 50,000 at the game, it would of been great being AK and hearing the cheers of the crowd after the tackle

I would not have liked to have been at the Kellaways for Sunday roast. Wonder who got the last spud lol.
Fantastic tackle.
Is anyone here old enough to remember John Beckwith - because he is the Kellaway's uncle, and i'm wondering if he played in a similar style.
Played till 1960, so maybe your dads might remember him lol
Back pocket player who captained Melbourne and played in four premierships

RooStew is one week older than me (not that i would ever be so rude to constantly remind him of it hahaha), so I doubt he'd remember.

Shame the old fossil Roar34 didn't post here lol

Yeah agree. Kellaway and Tuck provide much needed toughness in our side. I also thought Richo's bump then deflection of the ball which eventuated in a Pettifer goal in the last quarter was brilliant as well.

Those 3 were terrific to watch. Its great seeing that from our players and Pettifer also had another good hard tackle this week. All this is good signs and TW would love it :):D

Roo Stew does remember John Beckwith vaguely but by reputation, never saw him play. Trips to the big island were rare in those days but I recall his name from radio broadcasts etc. My first live memories were of the 1966 National Carnival and he didnt get a game for Victoria I dont think, ( I was in Grade 6 at the time). Christ I'm old haha.

Wasn't he one of the prime culprits for the change in the Out of Bounds on the full rule? Had a feeling he was also known for booting it over the boundary as a defensive tactic as well as being a hard b@st@rd.

Oh yeah I forgot...Crumden and Froars can both get stuffed! hahahaa old indeed!

That tackle was FANTASTIC :D

We were sitting on the wing in the Southern and Kellaway must have run about 10 metres at top pace before he laid the tackle. He pretty much hit the Weagles player at the same time he took possession of the ball - brilliant timing and completely blindsided him.

No it got nothing!!! I was annoyed as buggery. 2 of the 3 shown were reportable offences. Kellaway's was an example of "how its done", not "heres what NOT to do" Anyway his was team lifting, the others were team depressing.
