Well actually David Koch is the President of the Port Adelaide Football Club…… an absolute godsend for Port.….. Primus had no resources or decent assistants and coached during a bottoming out period. He was out of his depth tactically but he put the club before himself and got games into the kids. Lots of clubs bottom out for a few years. We didn't even win a spoon in that time.
He's very fondly remembered at the club because of his playing career and his coaching career didn't diminish that at all.

06-07 had some big injuries with Hayes, Goddard and Kosi missing huge chunks. And it was a period where gun veterans like Hamill, Gehrig were finishing.
Lyon took over at the perfect time when the 99-03 drafts were ready to peak and they were ready to take over the leadership of the club from your Harvey, Hamill, Hudgton etc.
Lyon left the Saints list in a mess, and did the same at Freo too.
Bit misleading to use a crap win rate post his departure when his coaching preference and team selection before he left was a key factor, as he barely developed any good kids from 08-12.
You sure it wasn't "We exist to win minor premierships".
4 and counting for Port.
Kenny leading Port to the 2020 minor premiership must be worth at least 4-5 more seasons.

You Have to Admit this was around 2010-12. Amazing Port didnt get the spoon that year. They would of had the Gold coast suns not been in the AFL.
Saying that Port was losing around 3 million a year. Port was the only club with No midfield coach.
Laidley at the time as a part time coach, spent 6 months in Adelaide then the other 6 months in home state of Victoria

… Lyon has gone around twice picking rubbish clubs up off the deck, whereas Hinkley has only done that to the one club.

Ross the Boss made a Pelim or better 5 out’ve 12 seasons..? Something, like that I think.
Hinkley 3 Pre-limes never made it further and now longest serving coach without a GF appearance in 9 seasons, couple of those Prelims could’ve gone the other way.
Not much daylight between ‘em.
Lyon probably got the job cause he’s a media preformer, poor old Ratt’s always looked like his sleep apnea mask didn’t fit right. Hinkley can be Hinkley as long as they’ve got Kotch

Lyon inherited good lists full of stars.
He then traded away draft picks for role players.
Both clubs then had to gut and commence full rebuilds AFTER he left.
He arrived at both clubs with good lists and left both with s**t lists.
The lesson for the Saints is not to let him have his way on list mgt decisions.

The argument for or against Hinkley, like most arguments on bigfooty sits somewhere between the 2 extremes of “it will be remembered as a dark time” and “he is a great coach with a great record”. Ken has been a good coach for port, not great but good. Wether or not a great coach would have gotten more out of the list I am not sure, but unfortunately being adequate in your role shouldn’t get you to 11 years without criticism. Unless we win an unlikely flag this year, it’s simply just time for a new voice and direction. No hard feelings.
You also need to win multiple games in a row against top 4 teams.
Something Ken has never done.

Well apart from the fact that KT isn't CEO any more (he was replaced by the home brand version), Port is in more debt than ever and you wouldn't know a 'REAL' Port supporter if they kicked you up the arse.
