4th rounder or PSD...which is highly unlikely. This is a joke right?

I doubt he'll be moving from Adelaide....

Surely we don't need him....can mark, can't run

Sounds good to me IP - where do I sign? :D

Seriously though, if we do go down this path, then I think we can write off any hope of a flag anytime soon. All we need to do is lop off the dead wood, hold onto our younguns and draft a few more. It's time for the big boys to accept a bit of responsibility and stand up in '08.

Finally we agree on something Chookie.

The game is about a mass of players called the midfield. The Slime recongnized it 5 yrs ago. Brissie lions a lot earlier.

The most tempting offer being prepared is that by Fremantle that wants McGregor and captain Matthew Pavlich to work a forward tandem for the Dockers. There is an ironic twist in this scenario considering Adelaide took McGregor rather than Pavlich in the 1998 national draft.

Someone wanna tell me where we are going to fit all of these forwards? Pavlich, Campbell, Murphy, Tarrant, McGregor??

If we are chasing him it better be worth nothing more than our PSD draft or in a deal involving Murphy. He isnt worth one of our draft picks.

Dumb move, we already have a million forwards like him.

Pfft, in tandem with Pav? Thats what they said about Tarrant.

Dont trade early picks for more experience. Use Murphy as trade bait, maybe even Campbell.

come on guys, we chased taz because he would take pressure off pav, and tz played great this year. it was a success. we got solly because we gave nothing for him, and he will be in our top 5 B&F both of those players provided us with something, i can not possibly see what mcgregor could offer freo, and because of this freo will stay away from him. dont believe everything you read because 99% is BS. especially if it is written in the westaustralian

Yeah, he was awesome! He definately stood up the last 5 or 6 weeks when finals were still a possibility.

I think my sarcasm detector monitor just exploded... :p

Dom - Taz had a decent season - especially before the Darwin debacle. He's in his first year at the club (remember Josh and Blackie's first season; remember Jeffrey's first season...); and he had NO PRE-SEASON.... is it any wonder he tired in the last part of the season??? Give the guy a break!

I agree, he had a decent season. Wasn't great, wasn't shithouse. If someone had said that Crowley, Peake or Johnson had a great year I would have commented too.

Tarrant needs to have the same amount of good games in 2007 but with a few really good games scattered through the year where he really stands out kicking a bag of 4 or 5. His best games weren't outstanding but his bad games were woeful this year.

He had a 2 week break at the end of June so he should have been fresh for the run home. Maybe that's why he dropped his strides, he didn't think a week off would be long enough to re-charge? ;)

Hmm Ken McGregor in Fremantle Colours, is it worth the risk... possibly.
Lets sum it up by looking at the positives and negatives...

POSITIVES: Well I can see some. One is that Hes a defender. A KEY POSITION DEFENDER! Thats one positive.

Another reason is that putting him into this side can add Depth towards our back line. So if a Luke McPlarlin, Michael Johnson or Anthony Grover. Gets injured. he there for a replacement.

He is also an experienced defender. So that is a positive.

I know I might get verbally abused. I say he can definaltley fit in our best 22 if not our starting 18!

Hes 195cm I have seen as a Part time Ruckman. Not the best but better than nothing. Had he been on our squad in this year. Hed definately get a game especially with our injuries with Aaron Sandilands and Justin Longmuir. (Thank god For Robert Warnock!):D So hes versatile.

NEGATIVES: Do we need him? as a forward? Probrably not!

Another thing about him, His age, born in the same year as Pavilich, In 1981 but hes 11 months older than Pavlich. So hes 26 or 27 when we get him. How many years do you think we will have him? Hed be lucky to Play 100 games for freo in my opinion.

Another concern is that hes not young and adding him to our list will only bump up our age average. We have one of the oldest lists surprisingly.

Most Important Negative: TRADE BLUNDERS!!!!!! weve seen this before. Fremantle has this nasty habit of getting "Established" Players, for trading good picks or players. Crows will be asking for something good out of this.

Thats how I planned it out. But this is my personal opinion. If we had a chance to get him at the pre-season draft. Get Him, Sign him for a two year contract. then find out what happens then.

definately worth the trade however wouldnt want to waste 2nd/3rd round pick on him.Maybe offer walker/haddill and a fourth round pick.

I haven't given up on Robbie Haddrill yet. If he can get through a full pre season without injury(big if!) then maybe he can get back to all australian form making McGreggor even more superfluous. No deal.

I'll give one negative you left out, hes a terrible defender. Cant play CHB to save himself.

Robbie Haddrill is one of the most important players on our list IMO.

According to a poster on the Adelaide site, McGregor has told the Crows he wants out. He has apparently said that if they can't arrange a trade for him, then he'll go into the PSD.

Can he play FB?

i asked that question on the crows board

'macca23' reckons we are very keen, and we would look to play him at FF

i doubt its correct but he seems to be 'in the know'

Best mates with Matthew Pavlich. I think we would play him at FB not FF. Or perhaps we could use him as another swing man.

It makes one or two of Michael Johnson, Antoni Grover, Ryan Murphy, David Mundy and Adam Campbell superfluous.

Should be an interesting trade period.

We may steal him for free and offload one or two of the above. Not saying its right, just saying it may happen.
