Re: Kennedy Out for 6-8 weeks

6-8 weeks then its about 4 weeks to regain fitness so around round 17 but could be back around round 15-16 if he regains his fitness quicker. If we can stay around the top 4 until then a fit Kennedy ( who usually has a purple patch at the pointy end of the season) and a fit Embley a fit Nikoski we could look dangerous with an unpredictable foward line. If we also get some games into Brown/Frasier/Lycett or even McGovern and few into a returning Brad Dick we could be better off.... hopefully.

mcGovern tore a tendon off his shoulder in the game on the weekend and is out for a few months as well though hope kennedy does get back soon rather than later as he is good to watch, tiptoeing aside

Re: Kennedy Out for 6-8 weeks

Not to mention he was a forward as a junior and has never been givong a crack forward since his firat year.

Its like you dont know our team. Brown is the only physically capable tall left with forward experience

Well I could question the same thing Steel given Brown was given a run up forward in 2010 and was less then convincing in that stint ;)

IN fairness - the whole squad was less than convincing

Re: Kennedy Out for 6-8 weeks

The only other option is to not bring in a tall and try Newman or Neates or someone like that.

This is a huge injury, the one player we couldn't afford to lose. It's not come at the worst time though, he'll be back for the business end.

Pretty much no one was performing well in those days. I remember he kicked 6-7 goals in one match in the WAFL and was playing forward for abit till he was made to play defense as we had lost glass for the year by that point.

Re: Kennedy Out for 6-8 weeks

I think Striijk may just play WAFL this season after his Heart Operation last year ,.... he wont even be considered , unfortunately

Re: Kennedy Out for 6-8 weeks

Just keeps getting worse. Dont know if i'd replace him with a tall. Maybe give Mitch Brown a crack for a few weeks, if not i'd be happy with getting another runner into the team. Make Cox play as almost a permanent forward in Kennedy's absence. Any of our defenders capable of going forward? I dont think so.

Re: Kennedy Out for 6-8 weeks

wow, this season is being derailed very quickly, top 2 now looking near impossible!

Not necessarily as many teams currently have plenty out for that 8-12 week period.
This year has been a killer for serious injuries, to date.

All the best to Kennedy and again we are left asking the question:
Should have he been put back onto the ground after the initial injury?

Re: Kennedy Out for 6-8 weeks

People relax.

We are not trying to bring in a replacement for JK. Darling will take the ff spot. We are then looking for someone to play the 3rd or 4th forward role that JD plays.

Because of this Mcinnes or Lycett will be able to step up and play. They wont be getting the best defender.

Is an absolute **** though.

Can't see us playing Mcinnes or Lycett, far too immobile with Cox already in the fwd line, we will surely go smaller, or perhaps try Brown at CHF if it is imperative to our structure/gameplan.

Brown is injured and won't play this week, Teague said it on the radio last night so people need to give up on this.

McInnes is pretty mobile and wouldn't be the worst option

Re: Kennedy Out for 6-8 weeks

There is one positive from this and that is that Jack Darling will get the #1 defender from now on no question. Finally get to see him hold down a KPP spot and if he keeps crashing packs like he did on the weekend

We can bring in another small.

Re: Kennedy Out for 6-8 weeks

Woosha will just throw Hunter up forward! Um, wait? No.

I think Stevenson, Strijk or Stevens get a gig as a hff with Cox playing more ff.
