Lets not be like our purple neighbours and write this year off because of injuries. We have a few, yes.. But the midfield is still very much alive and we can tweak the forward structure slightly to accommodate the loss of JK. Why not throw another tall in just with the intention of providing a marking option and use Darling and Hill as the focal points?
We should have known this would happen with JK though. Terrible preseason was underdone but played him R1 anyway.
A soft tissue injury maybe, but no one would have expected a structural issue like an ankle
What happens if Emac misses again? Which is expected to happen.
Probably silly to look for positives out of a 3 month injury to one of your most important players BUT its probably the part of the ground we can cover the easiest besides maybee the half back line. We still have a very good backline and a midfield to match it with the best, the press wont be as good with JK out but im sure we'll be alright. In most teams eyes this forward line is still pretty good:
Hill Darling Hams
Masten Lynch Resting mid/Ruck
Because then the Eagles would lose Naitanui's tackling and defensive pressure in the midfield as well as his freakish clearance abilities. I think the Eagles will still be fine. Will lose at most 3 games till Kennedy is back.As an Essendon supporter I love nic-nat. I have always thought that if you put him at full forward and left him there he would at some point evolve into a hundred goal player, and I never thought I would think that about a player of his size. But of course you need to have another great ruckman first in order to be afforded that luxury. you've got that in Cox, so why don't you just pander to my curiosity and deploy nic-nat exclusively in the teeth of goals.ps. i am not as knowledgeable about your team as all of you, and my notion is maybe way wrong.
