Where's Kenny's career at? Here's his stats for the 3 games so far this year:

Average over 3 games:

Kicks:5.67
Handballs: 2.33
Marks: 3.67
Tackles: ( 1 tackle in 3 games) 0.33
Goals: 1

In the game against Port, whilst his younger, smaller bodied, less experienced teammates were putting their body on the line "The Decoy" amassed 7 possessions and amazingly ( and quite embarrassingly for a senior player given the nature of the Port game ) ZERO TACKLES.

To say he's not in form is an understatement. He is averaging a paltry 1 goal a game, minimal possessions, zero defensive pressure and isn't providing any protection for the youngsters.

With (fingers crossed) Trent H and Nick Gill to return from injury, and if he continues on with this form, could Ken fall from grace to a "handy depth player" rated from 25-28.

With the likes of Dogga & Jericho lifting their performances, how am I not surprised posters are looking for a new whipping boy...

Personally I was wrapped with the effort of the Crows against the Power, yet some have to find negatives in every situation.

I was wrapped with the effort of the MAJORITY of the Crows. In a pressure game like that, you can't ignore a woeful preformance.

Anyone know how much time he is spending in the ruck? I agree, he is seemingly only allowing us the 'luxury' of playing one ruckman (with Tippett also). The idea that he is a decoy for taking the best defender each game doesn't seem to be happening either.

I don't really want to get into this debate, but I will and I must ask, why, really is it that this is happening? The answer is because we must, we really don't have many other options, Mcgregor, more than Stevens, is struggling to find his place in this team. You cannot tell me that having our ruckman take the centre bounce taps then swap with a KPF for the field work is ideal. Now clearly either Tippet's work around the ground is so far sub par that they can't leave him there, or we just can't afford to take him out of the forward line, because he's needed there and so one of our KPFs must run round the oval as pseudo-ruckman, because basically, whilst we can't do without Kurt, we can do with out them.

Whilst I'm not trying to bag Kenny, Kurt is a fair player as we all know, but really, I think Craig is struggling to find a role for Kenny in this side when Kenny has to play as a ruckman, not because we don't have 2, but because the ruckman is needed as a KPF.

IMHO Kenny is a CHB and a fairly decent one at that, unfortunately for him, because of our woeful ability to recruit a decent forward since Modra, Mcgregor had to move forward and now he has been surpassed by Bock and Stevens in that position. So his only option is to play as a forward, now he has a great set of hands and is a decent size, but apart from that Kenny doesn't have too many strings to his bow and now Kurt has come along, who plays a similar game, however with those extra strings, eg pack crashing ability, pace, supreme height, is great on the lead etc.

Now at the moment yes, Kenny is filling a role, but I cannot for the life of me see Kenny hold his place if Maric or Moran were to find some form and come into the side as ruckman, allowing Kurt to play forward, or if Gill or Hentschell were to return.
My thoughts taken from another thread.

Huge Kenny fan (another good WWT boy), and I thought we treated him terribly last year, but on his showings so far this year, he's gone when Gill/Hentschel are fit.

I hope he can get his act together, he's an awesome bloke.

He is keeping someones spot warm for them imo. If one of Sellar, Hentschel or Gill (later on) play a few good SANFL games i think he will be replaced.

Of course, because it is all about constantly improving. You cannot stand still in this game, if you do, you may as well apply for a board position at Richmond. Kenny's weaknesses are really starting to stand out these days, we have players on the horizon who can address that, of course people will be looking and calling for it to happen.

Would be slowest player in the AFL easily
Tries hard and will play a few good games a year but in reality is already a depth player ranked 25-28. Only getting a game due to Gill and Hentchell's injuries and is a stop gap until Sellar is ready. Personally I would rather us play both Maric and Griffen and leave Tippet full time forward. We can't have Kenny and Tippet in the same forward line for a full game as the ball is run out too easilly

Took some great grabs today, if only he could take them on a regular basis, improvement from Kenny on the last couple of weeks, but as our most experienced KP player, needs to do more.

i thought Kenny played fairly well today; he presented and took some solid contested marks. definitely a lot more worse players, who did nothing more than present as a link man.
He must have heard me cussing him out because he did come into the game a bit after I posted that.

I think you're spot on. If Maric, Moran, Gill, Hentschel... or even Sellar or Walker get themselves ready (through showing form/recovery from injury) I think Kenny is the first to go. As it is now, he's the only real choice.

That said, I'd like to see Kenny sort himself out and contribute 3 goals a game... he's capable of it, I think Tippet's presence in the team means he'll have to work harder to attract the kicks from midfielders.

I don't think Kenny or Tippett have been done any favours the first 4 rounds with the non selection of Maric. Maric must be picked to ruck with Griffin off the bench, and allow Kenny and Tippett to do their thing in the forward line.

Having said that, as previously stated by others, the Crows are biding their time for a Hentschel, Sellar, Gill, or Walker to step up and take Kenny's spot. He's a depth player now and I believe was contracted only to fill the void until one of these comes thru, this contract will be his last with the Crows.

But whover it is, we still need two dedicated ruckmen to allow our CHF and FF to do their job.

Then why is it a two year contract?

I think we felt that he would might need him this year and that we would probably lose him if we didn't. Lets face it, whilst he hasn't set the world on fire, at the moment he's still very much required whilst Gill and Hentschel come back from injury and whilst Sellar, Walker and even Tippet develop. He is here for depth and barring injury probably won't play much in that second year, just insurance at this stage i think.
