I was browsing through the Sunday Age's preview for the season ahead when I saw this comment about one Kent Kingsley - "Undersized for a full forward and will benefit from not being the key target." I also remember Kent saying something similar at the end of last season when Geelong delisted him.

That struck me as rather strange, so I decided to investigate further. Kingsley was listed as being 193cm and 95kg, but is this really undersized when compared to the following?

Daniel Bradshaw: 191cm, 95kg
Brendon Fevola: 191cm, 98kg
Matthew Lloyd: 192cm, 91kg
Chris Tarrant: 192cm, 95kg
Nathan Thompson: 194cm, 100kg
David Neitz: 191cm, 100kg
Warren Tredrea: 194cm, 98kg

Interesting that Kent is pretty much the same height and weight when compared to the players listed above. So is Kent Kingsley really undersized as a full forward, or is he just trying to deflect attention away from the fact that he is really a hack?

If you can't say anything nice .....

(and it's hard to after a year of inflated ego, lack of commitment, a dodgy hamstring and an over-protective coach)

.. then don't say nothin' at all!

Why do other Geelong supporters resent Kent Kingsley? Its quite sad.

Just let him go about his career. He wasnt the answer to our forward worries. Same as many others!

How quickly we forget that he was on his own up there for many years.

Good luck at Richmond Kent.

Brad Johnson is 10cm shorter than him. 2nd in the Coleman playing 80% of his football at FF. Kingsley can't use size as an excuse.

He's not a FF a-hole yet he won the Cats goalkicking trophy in all but one of the seasons he was on the list...what's that say about the high and mighty standard down at Kadinia Park:p

That says he played at full forward at Geelong, and as such you would expect him to be the leading goalkicker most seasons, wouldn't you? And the reason he was a full forward was that he was of a decent size to play the position. I think the reason he sucked at the position has already been stated here. He can't take an overhead mark. That's not because he's undersized, that's because he's crap. Think of all the other full forwards in the league, and every other full forward in the league can take a strong pack mark but Kingsley. Why is that?

Let's not forget his propensity to pass off to teammates from marks inside 50 rather than taking the responsibility to have the shot himself. Great full forwards back themselves in to kick goals from anywhere inside 50. But does Kent? Nah, he'd prefer someone else do it.

Keep backing him to the hilt. I think about after his fifth or sixth game for Richmond you'll be thinking the same about him as most Geelong supporters, and indeed supporters of most other clubs, do. I can see it now, Kingsley walking off the ground, head down while being showered in a spray of spit from irate Richmond supporters. :thumbsu:

He wasn't on his own. At various times he had Ben Graham, Cameron Mooney, Steve Johnson and Brad Ottens to keep him company. He's just the only one who would disappear entirely under any pressure.

He's is big enough to be a full forward, he's just not a strong enough mark or talented enough to hold it down consistently. Defend him all you like but that's the truth. I'm glad he's gone. One less weakness to worry about.

HAha. You are a joke. Graham could kick the ball half the length of the ground. Seen any other players kicking the ball as far as Graham? I haven't. Kingsley didn't even back himself to shoot for goal from 40 out. And don't try and tell me Kingsley could take a better mark than Benny, because you'd be wrong again... In your deluded little world, exactly how is Kingsley in any way better than Ben Graham?

Ha ha yourself, you delusional fool....he was as thick as two planks and didn't know what to do with the ball....I remember against the Roo's at the Cattery and he set up 2 of your youngsters at the time from 25M out from goal...any normal person would of had a shot but not the bonehead...nup I'll hospital pass to my mates and get them polaxed...he was a hack...in dizzy o'connell's league...

Just illustrating how ignorant you sound in judging Graham on one kick down at the Cattery against the Roos... Obviously Dunstall was a champ, but if I judged him on that one kick, he'd be a dud. Open your eyes Kippy.
