Sri Lanka 9/149.

Been watching this game more than the Aussie game. The Kenyan catching and ground fielding has been fantastic.

Boy, doesn't this open up that pool, Kenya is a chance to make the super 6's, according to the commentators if they beat Bangladesh, they are in.

They beat Canada and Sri Lanka, who was the other win against, i forget?

New Zealand forfeited their game against them, obviously assuming that they wouldn't need the win.

That assumption might turn out to be wrong now though!

I too was watching this game more than the Aussie game. Great stuff. Will give the game a big boost in Kenya, and now it looks like they might make the super 6

Like everyone else I found myself watching that game far more than the Aussies match.

Kenya were brilliant. Their fielding and enthusiasm was wonderful to watch. Also thought they were expertly captained.

Anyone who doubts whether the minnows should be in the World Cup, look at last night. A win like that in front of a packed Nairobi crowd will do wonders for the game there.

Kenya clearly deserve test status - just take it off Bangladesh.

Who was the person who posted before the tournament that Kenya were good value for the Super 6? I hope they got on.

I agree, I thought it was excellent captancy, especially with teh field placings.

Arnold fell for it hoook line and sinker, getting the singles and allowing Kenya to get the other guys out.

Arnolds effort was very poor in my book - he took no responsibility on at all.

The Kenyans won through skill as well and not luck. Colin the leg spinner bowled one of the best spells I have ever seen by a leg spinner and htat includes Shane Warne

Well done Kenya.

They were celebrating wickets like soccer players do when they get a goal.:p One of them took a caught & bowled and headed straight towards the boundary line.He was only stopped by the 12th man coming out with drinks and joining in the celebration.

And Kenya still have Bangladesh coming up. Unless a similar boilover occurs, Kenya will win that and have 4 wins.

That will turn into a real grudge match now. The commentators were saying Kenya will have point to prove about Bangladesh getting Test status ahead of them, there is a bit of bad blood between them because of that fact. Plus there's the question of how will Kenya cope with the added expectation of qualifying for the Super 6 stage. They would have went in with no thoughts of making the next stage, now it's a very real possibility, the pressure on them goes up another few notches.

On the other side, Bangladesh will be keen to stop Kenya getting there and showing them up, and prove they deserve to have Test status. Should be fascinating to watch this one.

Unbelievable. We could now see 2 sides out of SAF, Windies, NZ SL, miss the super 6. with Kenya having beaten both NZ and SL, I fancy those 2 missing out and Windies and SAfrica going through with Kenya, and dont write off Zimbabwe beating Pakistan either (the way Pakistan are playing at the moment anything is possible)

BTW Gotta love that Kenyan dance at the fall of each wicket. Sensational !!!!! :D

Kenya believe it? Great win by 53 runs!
Good to see them celebrate after the win :)

A win vs Bangers and they are into the Super 6

You seem to be echoing what Ian Chappell said post-match. What leads you to believe this? At the start of the tournament Maurice Odumbe was quoted as saying Kenya fully expected to reach the super six stage.

And if New Zealand and SriLanka go through with Kenya to the Super sixes then they will already have two wins under their belt.

They might make the Semi's!!

I did say the commentators had mentioned it, just couldn't remember whether it was during the call or the after match wrap-up.

As for the expectations, the players might have had thoughts of making it, but the general cricketing public wouldn't have. Add that to the jump in interest and the pressure that generates from their own countrymen, yeah I still think that all adds to the expectation.

Personally, I reckon it will be great if Kenya can make it, I'll be watching that game against Bangladesh with interest.
