the biggest actually i.e. he played on rocca against north, but you'd say grant is there best forward.

Whelan is probably our best defender in the sense of stopping players.

But our defense is a unit, a unit that needs nicho in there for structural reasons.
Especially when they come agaisnt a side that has a big full forward, ie Gehrig, and the rest of your backline is soft and too small so they sacrifice Nicho to get 10 kicked on him. They sure do work as a unit.

Don't get too caught up in one victory dirty. The previous 7 games between the 2 sides reveal a more compelling picture.

Let's see how things pan out at the G in round 18, eh champ ?

You're an idiot.

Astonishing !! The gangly, awkward Kepler beats the pure silk and talent of Rivers in this poll. You only had to see his fantastic courageous mark in the last against the Filth to be riminded of the quality that we'll be privileged to witness for years to come.

Jeez that was a good mark. Ferguson and Whelan would also do the same thing.

the last 5-6 weeks hes held all the full forwards.. he has been great..
more than i can say for stkildas backline..

Both will be fantastic players.... no doubt about it.

At the moment, Rivers has probably shown more... but with that said, I think Bradley has had harder opponents and has definitely had less hours on the footy field.

Long term, I think Bradley has the potential to be better than Rivers.... but depends on what they each end up doing and their commitment levels.

...really though, theyre totally different players so hard to compare them.

Fletcher's return has cost Kepler Bradley his place - he will line up for Bendigo against Port Melbourne this Sunday.

"Kepler has been a bit bruised and battered in recent weeks," Essendon assistant coach Mark Harvey said. "He had the eye problem and before that copped a heavy knock to the ribs. He has also been asked to do some pretty big jobs - it is about player management and we just felt it was time to ease him back."

3rd time this year Kepler's been dropped?

No big deal though, youngsters often have to be rested at different times at this age.

I'd say River's last two games are putting him above Kepler for this season. He absolutely demolished collingwood and did very well on WCE.

Only the first mate.

I must admit I wasn't suprised, he hasn't had a lot of footy of late due to injury and the Roos only have the one BIG forward.

He was beating Hansen until he got injured, and his first quarter against St Kilda was fantastic. Probably one of the best on the ground at quarter time. He then most of the rest of the game on the bench.

Was it? Ok, I stand corrected.

Essendon and Melbourne supporters. Should not be allowed to vote on this as each club will vote for their respective player. An unbiased comment would be Jared Rivers won the National Rising Star and Bradley would not get a game in the little league.

lol ....1.2.3.4.5.6.7.8 times :)

bradley has loads of potential. thats wat u get with pick 6 in the draft. but atm rivers is the better player and he has shown more then bradley so far in their short careers.

bradley does have a height advantage but i fancy rivers has better overall skills and its undenyable how much guys this guy has

so really, rivers is the better player AT THE MOMENT and has shown more but i know both teams would be very happy with their players

Bradley has had to step into the shoes of Dustin Fletcher many times this season and has had to take on opponents with the calibre of Warren Tredrea, for example. Whereas Rivers sits there floating around the backline, mopping up the ball and playing loosely too much. Kepler Bradley for me, in terms of potential. Good to see him winning the poll.

Wouldn't call Rivers loose considering he managed to hold J Brown to 1.2 the other night and not let Brown have a big influence over the game in what was a belting for us.
Off the topic a bit but on young defenders Matt Maguire is a great find and will be the best CHB in the comp for quite a few years. Really like the way he plays.

Brown still has 21 posessions, so he wasn't kept 'quiet'.

So do I, that's why he's my favourite player.

brown was always going to get 21 possesions but in comparison to previous weeks, he wasnt anywhere near as damaging and wouldnt be in the top 5 players on the ground.

problem is, we struggle to stop 2 quality key position forwards...********in bradshaw :p

and yeh maquire is a gun. would make a great CHF i remember

Kepler Bradley, because he's the next Dustin Fletcher, and Fletcher has been very good for many years now. If I was Bradley I'd be happy to be compare with good old Fletch
