Kerr

Contract negotiations always involve being linked to other clubs..........J Brown and the PIes......Fev and the swans etc....

True but the difference here is that Kerr can't stop the Weagles from negotiating with another Club. He could only do that if he was out of contract. Predicting he'll end up at the Swans or Pies. but they'll have to do a lot of trading to get the draft picks needed. :)

Which is why I think the Eagles are pushing it.

They know its unlikely anyon will get the picks they want, but are hoping someone will try.

I don't think any club is going to be able to get the picks unless the Pies trade Didak........but try justifying trading Didak......to bring in Kerr? Makes no sense character wise. Kerr is worse IMO.

If Syndey trade ROk the maybe, but again, what do you gain by trading ROK and your first pick for Kerr? Makes no sense either.

I hope we don't fall for it.
Would hate to see pick and Walker/Bower......or 6+24+ Army/Browne go for Kerr.

Why can't we be patient and develop our own?

Does anyone else want to nominate Carlton as their preferred choice. We are the popular girl in school everyone wants to take to the Ball at the moment. Must make richmond and melbourne fans feel like the dorky kids no-one wants to be seen with.

If we can get Kerr, i certainly wouldnt knock him back, great player. Worth pick 6? We'll have to see in a week and a bits time. But trade period cannot come quick enough for my liking.

As an outsider, I got the strong impression that Kerr wants to play for Carlton next year after his actions on AFL Gameday.

I think he's been forced into this situation by a very smart Eagles recruiting philosophy (won't go into detail, but they think of it as selling a half-used car battery for a brand new one with no energy rating).

He's obviously grown on the idea of playing for Carlton and thinks he'll win another flag with Judd.

If you can get another good pick you'll have close to the best midfield of the 21st century.

Judd, Kerr and Gibbs... with Murphy, Stevens and Kreuzer...

But the cool thing for you guys is that if Judd and Kerr BOTH end up at Carlton, then it completely changes the culture you've grown over the past 6-7 years.

You have already almost phased out that terrible culture, Kerr would just make everyone feel like nothing can stop you.

And just what terrible culture would that be ?

I dont want Kerr, dont get me wrong he is a superstar. But we would need to get rid of pick 6 and then either get another early draft pick to give them or a really good young player.

With GC entering the draft next year i would like to keep our pick 6 this year

why would kerr want to stay at west coast
at carlton we have judd, his best mate
a much brighter future ovetr the next 5-10 years
much more media hype
will get money from visy
why wouldnt he be begging us to get him

The best midfield of the century lost the Grand Final after losing just one game in the H & A season.

How did Geelong's no name spine (apart from Scarlett) perform today?

Roughead and Franklin didn't have a big day, but when they did have the ball, their class showed and their combined four goals was the difference in the end.

There's a chance Hurley might be available if Ziebell and Sidebottom are picked in the top five of this draft.

We'll be better placed to take on the Hawks and Cats in the next four years by adding Hurley to our spine than by trading for Kerr.

We will kick ourselves if we trade for Kerr and Hurley was available at pick six.

A good big man always beats a good small man. ;)

Kerr isn't going to win us a flag, but subtract from our depth of talent.

 I'm so excited after hearing kerr say " i would love to play with my mate juddy next year"

was watching him in the 06 grand final, put a huge smile on my face, STUFF pick 6 we want a premiership NOW!!

Just coming back from the city "melbourne" seeing all those hawks fans screaming makes me soo jelous....

WHAT EVER IT TAKES, JUST GET IT DONE!!

I think it's obvious now that Kerr is staying at West Coast, if he was out of contract i'd say he would be available, but frankly there is no way the Weagles can get the 2 first rnd draft picks for him (from any club) and it's only really a matter of the length of his next contract ..

Especially now when you consider all the top prospects coming into this draft, I don't think the club will give up pick 6 under any circumstances really ...

Really hoping we can name the Z-man or Hurley at that draft pick (i'm still not sold on Sidebottom or Yarran)

Well said.

Kerr >>>>>>>>> daylight >>>>>>> Pick 6

We have to make some aggressive moves as with Fev at his peak we could challenge for a flag very soon

I don't really know if I wanna trade for Kerr or not. As someone previously mentioned, bringing in Kerr this year would allow us to go for a flag with Fev in his prime. People are saying they don't want to trade both picks 6 and 24 for kerr and warnock because the draft is so strong, but if you look at it individually, if your pick 6 turned into daniel kerr and your 24 into warnock, you'd be ecstatic with that year's draft effort. Both are still very young as well, so it wouldn't create any issues with no draft picks coming into play because of the GC.

I would be happy to trade in Kerr next year simply because of the issue of Fev playing in his prime

how the hell could Carlton get Kerr under the salary cap considering the money they are paying Judd and Fev, not to mention they have offered Warnock $350k per year

Gibbs, Murphy, Walker, Kruezer must all be getting paid peanuts

good luck keeping them all long term, especially when their market value increases
