Do either of our clubs need Kerr?

You have a gamut of young forwards which we need and we have a gamut of young midfielders which you need

Can't we just make our teams stronger so we can meet in Finals in years to come

Which one of your forwards would you trade to get one of our mids?

Doing a trade with Carlton would be like sleeping with your sister... You can tell yourself you may get what you want but it would just be wrong!;)

Rusling for Gibbs

mmmmm

Thats like Carlton asking for Cloke in return for Ryan Foolihan

Didak won't be traded.
Brown will stay a lion.
Kerr to become a blue.
Cousins to become a pie.

Book mark this and see if i'm right.

I know both clubs hate each other but there is no reason why we shouldn't deal with each other to stop the evil interstaters getting stronger

Wouldn't you rather Collingwood facing Carlton in a Grand Final rather than watching Port Adelaide or West coast in it

Nope. We dont care who we beat as long as we beat them. This thread's about Kerr's value, not about Carlton's ineptness in building a forward line.

NO!

I'd prefer Carlton outside the 8 regardless of who's going to win it.

I've always barracked for the Victorian clubs until 2002 & 2003.

When we were up against Brisbane 2 years in a row, all non Collingwood people wanted Brisbane to win it.

As a result, unless The Pies are in the Granny, Interstate Clubs get my support!

We can't trade Wellingham, Sampler, he is not on the senior list.
I would say you are almost certainly correct on that. It's just a matter of whether a player's "elevation" during the season counts, but I'd suspect not. :thumbsu:

We're going to have a space list problem at the end of this season. Most of the intelligent Eagles supporters around here agree that we wont use more than our first 3 draft picks, meaning, given we'll have 2, 18 & 20 ourselves, that a trade for Kerr would need quality, not quantity. No point accepting 27 & 37 if we arent going to use them.
Whom would it require for you to trade us #36, assuming you're not going to use it, but that you would need to vacate a spot on your list?

Also, keep in mind you could delist a fringe player and then rookie them, as the rookie list is being extended to six for this year and next...

Taking the scenario one step further, assume you do use #36, who would you accept for #52 (fourth round)?

Cheers.

TBH, I dont know the Collingwood list well enough to fully answer that.

I can see us offering teams with an older list 20+36+young player (we have a veritable armada of kids atm) for their first rounder.

Other than that, as always, we're on the lookout for a small forward. Ideally one we could Rookie list. If you have one available and he's any good, 36+52 can be yours. If you'd take it, I'd give you 18, 36 & 52 for Leon Davis in a heartbeat.

I can't see us trading Davis on that deal...

Also, if we were to trade you a player for #36, I don't think they can go on your rookie list, they'd need to be senior-listed. The only player I could think of in the "small forward" role would be Brad Dick, and I doubt we'd trade him for #36 after taking him at #44. The pick itself is no insult, but it doesn't really achieve much for us... unless of course he desperately wanted to return home! :D

The player who may want to return to WA is Shannon Cox, who if he finds his best position can really play. I don't know if he'd interest you guys or whether he's more of a Freo candidate, if indeed he does leave the Pies this year.

have brad dick

anyway... I would not give away Didak for Kerr. Its contradictory of why he's leaving and their ability is almost the same. Surely there is a way to keep Didak and get Kerr without losing one of our better players. If carlton can rip west coast off why can't we!!?
If Kerr goes to Carlton, I will kill him before he even sets a foot on Victorian soil don't you worry about that.

So what do you plan to plea, justifiable homicide?

The difference is that Kerr is contracted. Judd was not. And Judd leaving/Cuz getting the ass has left us with a LOT of room to maneuvre on Kerr's contract if necessary. If Kerr leaves, it will only be because Kerr himself wants to.

Genesis, just wanted your thoughts on who you think has the higher likelihood of leaving WCE at the end of the season.

Kerr or McKinley or neither?

Freo candidate.

If you're not a specific clearance player or KPP on Subiaco Oval, you're a flanker. We have stacks of those, without being rude. Cox would just be a space filler on our list if we traded him for 36.

We have two Rookies that are definates for being promoted (Wilkes and Davis), both have been rare lights in an otherwise dark year for us on the field. That means we have to get rid of up to 5 senior list spots to cover the 3 required Draft picks & those 2 promotions. Thats abit of an issue for us atm, so we wont be looking to trade for space fillers like Cox. We'd be looking to take a swathe of picks and players, and trade them for 1 or 2 quality/upgraded picks.

Dunno, maybe we should just give you 36 if you want it that badly. Its about time our two powerhouse teams got on amicably. We should be busy squashing the peasants, not giving each other grief! ;)

Theoretically: Kerr (where there's smoke, there's generally fire. There's no need for any smoke atm unless the fire is real).

Realistically: Neither (I cant see anyone filling the Eagles requirements).

I sat in on the LiveChat McKinley had online last week (each week an Eagles player does a half hour online chat, anyone can jump online and ask away). I came away pretty convinced that he genuinely wants to stay. Hard to tell, I know, when you cant see the guy typing the answers, but its the same with every interview and every time I've seen him on the field. His body language has been fantastic towards the club this year. Very positive in interviews, and watch how he celebrates with teamates on the field. I think he's a WCE keeper now.

Cheers for that.

However, granted Kerr is the one that is contracted between the two, what would happen if McKinley asked to be traded back East? How would WCE handle this hypothetical situation with him being out-of-contract?

WC has a history of only trading players that ask to be traded.

If McKinley asks to be traded home, then I have no doubt we would honour that request. It's what we've always done. We have virtually no history of 'begging' players to stay at the last minute.

We'd then start shopping him around, no doubt with the request to him that he not nominate a specific club early in the piece. Get the trade done, wish the boy well and move on.

:thumbsu: Again cheers for that.

Cool and honest response too.

Will be an interesting trade period this year.
