May god be my judge I was just sending him a text when he announced his retirement on air....amazed and selfishly very saddened to see him go. Had his finger on the pulse despite the comical element.

Sad News from the MCG: Kerry O'Keeffe has announced that this will be his last summer of broadcasting cricket. His final game for the ABC will be the ODI v England on January the 19th. Here he is making the announcement alongside Jim Maxwell.

a) Old enough to enjoy retirement with the mrs
b) Remembered for being good

Will definitely miss him on the radio. Despite his clown persona, he knows a heck of a lot about the technical side of cricket and is able to convey this to the listener very well. Always enjoyed his work with the overseas commentators.

Sad to hear him go. I lost my shit regularly when he was on, the banter between him and Jim/Drew and Aggers cracks me up. That one time him and Harsha Bhogle ate that chili at the Sydney test, unforgettable. Other than his laugh he is so knowledgeable about almost every aspect of the game, he'll be sorely missed.

You know that Channel 9 and the ABC are completely different entities right? Although I wouldn't be absolutely opposed to it I highly doubt that's the case, this seems like a legit retirement.
