Rumour Kevin Sheedy - The Essendon Puppet Master

If confirmed, just sooooo messed up.

If it were possible, and you could put that club's collective consciousness on a psychiatrists couch...

and they hid their dysfunction for 100 years, and even seemed like one of the best clubs in the comp. Incredible.

Sheeds is too busy being a Liberal party bootlicker

My god you political freaks are draining!

The entire mental psychosis of the EFC is worthy of study itself. There is still this continual thread of seeking any way around hard work to achieve the perceived rightful place of domination. Find a way around salary restrictions, find a way around draft restrictions, find a way around performance enhancement. It's really a comical failure of direction, focus and leadership.
The whole Hird thing is yet another mental gymnastic belief that somehow one of their "greats", tainted or not, will be another "magic" quickfire success solution to the perceived lower position then the right royal birthright should have them at.
Woosha touched on it recently himself. There is this terrible, almost psychotic mindset that they will "outsmart" their way out of this undignified lower position. It's enough to make you want to vomit all over the supercilious egos of the board and inner sanctum.

I have heard on good authority that Kevin Sheedy has been plotting the return of James Hird to the Essendon Football Club.

Kevin has been making an effort to clean up James' brand through the media in a very deliberate and considered way.

Mark Robinson is also in the loop as the preferred media contact.

Kevin was instrumental in James' appointment at GWS.

James will consider being a full time assistant coach in 2023 to help his cause to become a senior coach again if he doesn't get propelled into the role "early".

The bottom line is that Kevin Sheedy wants James Hird to be the next coach of the Essendon Football Club (end of this year or end of/mid way through next year) and is gathering the numbers at board level to make this happen.
It would be like a shot in the arm for the bombers having James "Inject them all"Hird back

That Hird was the climax of the Essendon's weird pre-game antics fits this narrative..

.. weird gesture though with the scarf. It reminded me of the hangman's noose..
Awful tie that is too short.

Not sure James is in the right headspace to step back onto the AFL hurdy-gurdy.

it's ******* insane.

James Hird should not be let anywhere near an AFL club ever again, if he's walking down Arden street or Punt rd and he needs to use the rest room, pretend he's homeless and tell him you dont have any dunnies!

But given that he's going there...

If there was anyone with the slightest bit of competence involved, he'd be advised to keep his head down and spend a couple of years doing an apprenticeship at a club other than the bombers and actually learn what's involved.

Nailed it.

Just an update on this:

There is talk from those in the know that James Hird could return as an assistant coach in a beefed up Dons Football Department in 2023.

It has certainly been floated by a prominent Dons Board Member.

The board member thinks this is the best chance of Hird returning to the head coaching gig at the Dons if Rutten under-performs in 2023, opening up the caretaker role by stealth and eventually staying on beyond 2023.

This scenario is something they're thinking about.

Rutten would walk out in disgust

Rutten would walk out in disgust
He probably wouldn’t, but he’d know what the play is, as would every other person in Australia.

Even if you take out the drug scandal, why would there be such an urgent push to get him back in?

When Bomber Thompson left after his caretaker stint it was obvious to everybody that he was the brains behind the outfit , left to his own devices Hird was rudderless in the top job, he had no clue at all.

It’s almost like the the fanboys trying to get him back in the fold are blaming ASADA and WADA for stunting his development and he’ll be better the second time around.

Sheedy has seemed hell bent on getting Essendon people back in the club since he rejoined the board. He more or less publicly cracked the sh!ts when Rutten was hired.

I believe that the OP is right and they will actually go through with this , and again it will be a car crash

if anyone involved had any ******* brains at all, they would let jimmy complete a 3-4 yr apprentice as an assistant somewhere before even thinking of bringing him back as a senior coach.
