3rd rounder for Gillies? He's not going to be that monster defender we need but he is a good player,l just needs to get some AFL games into him

L. Delaney is contracted but his manager was spruking him about a bit. Don't think it would be wise for North to let him go if any offers do come in as he is the only real big bodied true KPD we have at the minute. Maybe he will move on next year once his brother puts on sufficient muscle.

Not sure I'd call Rivers a 'key' defender.

Troy Davis, maybe?

About 5th in line at Melbourne, actually a decent KPD.
Rivers is a key defender - he might take a third tall and zone off but there is a reason Geelong are interested in him.

Troy Davis is rubbish. With all the injuries we finished up with he still couldn't get a run.

Yeah, I'm probably just splitting hairs when it comes to definitions of a 'key' defender.

But re: Davis; how many games were we missing more than two of Frawley, Garland, Watts, Rivers and McDonald?
Would almost be a walk-up start at a few other teams.

Can't believe that there's talk of MFC picking up ANOTHER tall defender this year in Plowman. Maybe if Rivers walks and we trade Garland........

I wouldn't think Brown is going anywhere. He's very much part of our future plans and his girlfriend Shae Bolton is contracted to the Fever in 2013.

I think the cats would be keen to keep Gillies now that Scarlett has retired...

I think the Bombers may still shop around Pears and Hooker during trade week but I'm expecting both to stay.

haha. His decision making then?
He is actually a beautiful kick of the football over distance but I don't think he backs himself with the footy. His short distance kicking can be below par at times depending on the pressure he is under. He made some absolute howlers this year while the footy was in his hands. Sells teammates into trouble to often with short pissy little handballs. It's something that I think can be ironed out of his game quickly.

I'd hate to see north lose him because he has the genuine strength to go with the gorillas and we have put 4 years into him.

Completely incorrect.

Frawley, Rivers, Garland, McDonald were all fit, while Sellar was swing man. Why should he have gotten a run. It'd be like calling Ben Sinclair rubbish because he only played when Didak was out.

Completely incorrect? C'mon HFF, The POTY tag is going to your head.

Garland and Rivers both spent a fair amount of the season forward. Frawley and Sellar missed games through injury at various points during the second half of the year (and when he did play Sellar went forward more than back) and then there was McDonald. With all that Davis didn't even get close to a look in for a reason.

And the Sinclar/Didak analogy is wrong because, you see, Sinclar plays and isn't rubbish. Huge difference.

You serious about that POTY thing? I'm calling a spade a spade.

Sellar and Frawley missed about two games each, and Davis was emergency for a fair few.

When those two missed, we played Garland and Rivers back...

To say I was completely incorrect was... completely incorrect. And you know it.

Rivers, very rarely, played down back in the second half of the year. Garland 50/50. We went with everyone and anyone down back throughout the year and Davis still couldn't get a run. The kid can't play. Hell we shifted Dunn into a backmans role before we played Davis. That, my friend, should tell you something.

L. Delaney (North)
Brown (West Coast)
Gillies (Geelong)
Gilham (Hawthorn)

So are these players likely to move on?
Brown is under contract till the end of 2013.

He has also previously expressed a desire to stay at WC and that he enjoys living in WA. His GF is also contracted with the WC Fever till the end of next year.
