Key forward solution

Exactly. If you ignore the kicking yips against the Dogs, he was clunking those marks left, right and centre.

I'm more worried about the lack of forward pressure with Pav and Sandi in the forward 50 than Sandi's marking or kicking ability.

I don't believe his foot was good at all during that game.

Sandilands would demand a defender, which is one less to double-team Pavlich and that could be the most valuable thing Sandi does up forward, even if he kicks goals.

we need a straight up forward. not a forward moonlighting as a ruckman. not a forward cum midfielder. a tall, preferably big bloke, who leads, marks, turns around, chucks up a bit of grass, kicks it through the big sticks and does nothing else, except maybe lay some tackles. a larrikin who the ladies like, with a bit of dash, strong enough to move a fridge on his own, light enough on his feet to sidestep a goose. we need one of these.

Mitch Clark?

He forgot to say, someone that's not a bitch.

That's a bit harsh on the bloke, Freo took too long getting a deal done they had been planning for "months", he initially rejected the offer from Melbourne for Freo's sake but after all the bull**** bluffing and stalling he decided to go to the club that valued/rated him highly, wanted him immediately, after he received the blessing/prompting from his ill grandmother who he was willing to sacrifice thousands of dollars to spend more time with. Like I said, a bit harsh on him.

Meh, boring Coast Eagle is boring.

Refer to Chris Bond's interview earlier today. The higher priority for Fremantle was to have a pick in the first round, higher priority than getting Clark. If Brisbane wanted a first round pick it means Bond had to find another one from somewhere - he said he wasn't prepared to offer the first round pick until got another one for ourselves. Tuesday we nearly got pick 10 in the mega-trade over JOM, but the AFL blocked that. Had to then look for a separate trade with GWS to convert the Palmer compo pick into the spare first rounder. After that they offered pick 16 to Brisbane.

It's a question of priorities. regardless of what you think Clark is worth, he wasn't the highest priority. I will Bond's judgement on this.

What baffles me is that there was a good player ready and willing to come to fill void freo have up forward, yet they would rather risk their hand in the draft for an unknown? Sounds like poor management to me....

EDIT: or a bad trade move on this occasion at aleast...

The forward void was an illusion caused by Mark Harvey's gameplan and team selection.

I see a lot freo on here saying "Mitch Clark, pressure's on him now" but there's also gonna be a heap of pressure on whoever freo pick up with pick 16.... I hope he's better than M Clark....

Sure because all there is to managing a list is what we get for the pick we didn't use on Clark.

Yours is a short sighted point of view.

Managing the list (and this is what we love Bond for) is more than just what pick you trade for what talent. Judge it in several seasons time - especially next season when we suddenly have 600K+ a year free in the cap to get someone decent through free agency.

The price was too high - we walked. Excellent call.

That link gets recycled every season. As I mentioned, I'm comfortable to judge the call in a few seasons time.

eagles troll we already have better than mitch clark.
His name is Keplar in less games he kicked just as many goals as the forward sensation mitch clark.
Keplar also spent time as a ruckman.

You guys stuffed up by not getting him Cox will be gone soon an then its all up to nicnat.

With Pav back in the forward line it means guys like Keplar/MJ and Mayne etc wont have to deal with the best defenders anymore.
Also there opponents will sit off trying to help cover Pav so they will all become much more dangerous.

As for Sandi forward HELL NO.
It doesnt work, because hes so big an strong opponents are allowed to get away with murder an he struggles to mark or even get free kicks. Then when he does get one its no sure thing he will kick it.
Yep we need to draft a young key forward prospect in this draft so when Pav is gone he is ready to fill the hole.
Mitch Clark was never the answer.

****ing eagles, get off our boards. I'm sick of our posters having to clog up our boards by having to explain things to them in laymans terms.

He's not an elite forward, he's a bit part forward who commanded a marquee salary that would compromise the list management model of any team who were dumb enough to pay such an amount for him. You pay these amounts for marquee players you build teams around. Not 2nd rate forwards that belong in the ruck but refuse to play there.

Anyone got any footage/infor of Fraser McInnes? I looked in the trades/draft board but there was no thread in the draft watch forum on him.

I watched him play his first league game for Perth in the last game of the season, he looks a likely type , but if it was up to me i would be looking at Busher.
