Jack R may be a bit of a princess but he does deliver great performances and intensity, though inconsistently. I am certain his princess attitude problems could be turned around, particularly with the culture we have developing.

Would be an awesome grab for Freo.

I dont mind this riewoldt. He would bust his get out and Bleed for the dockers shirt.

Still remember that round 1 game against the saints as both teams drew. He was concussed but was subbed off. You knew he wanted to get his butt out there to help the tigers win.

So you want me to send over decent Key forwards or slaves or live cattle over the border?

On your current form, just buy a heap of roeys and sedate any male over 195cm and 85kg that you can find. We'll do the rest.

If you do happen to come across Jack Watts, make sure to reserve a special female section for him for the trip over.

He'll also need seperate change rooms to the boys.

and one of those special cushions with the hole in it, just in case his balls decide to drop along the way - long shot I know.

Lets go with the Walters example to prove how a poor club/coach can effect player development.

If we didnt get Lyon.
Walters would of been delisted.
Sent back to the scrapheap and probably wouldnt have been picked up by anyone.

How many stupid soft complaints have you seen on this board over the last few years about Ibbo.
Ive never thought he was soft, i did agree he had a total lack of awareness and never seemed to use his much hyped athletic abilities.
Look at him now with age/games experience and a much harder and stricter coach.

Nice guys finish last, they make crap coaches.
Melbournes last 2 coaches were considered great guys(nice), everyone loves them.
Respect is what you want to hear the players saying.
That means they are tough but fair.

Or let's not.

Son-son had already shown great potential under Harvey at AFL level.

Then he screwed up and got basically banished from the club.

The choice was his to get his arse into gear and do the hard work to make it back. Or diasppear like many before him.

Son-son took the bit between his teeth and accepted, and overcame, that challenge.

Watts has had that choice his whole career, without the personal duress and embarrassment of being ostracised from Melbourne.

Yet, in 4 years, he has constantly failed to take up the challenge.

So lets assume GWS snare one of Buddy, Reiwoldt or the #1 pick (Boyd).

That could leave Patton surplus to requirements all of a sudden. I wonder what we would have to offer to tempt them to trade?

No it won't, they are confident they can turn Patton into their future CHB

agree completely, surely they wont take buddy + Boyd though.
GWS after ruckmen, we could snag some1 talented (Patton, if Buddy + BOYD what about CAMERON????)
To much 2 ask probably but would he even play.

Pretty sure they came close to not offering him a contract when it ended in 2011.
With the new coach coming in they(or Ross) decided re-sign him.
Which happened not long before the cut off time.

I'm 2/3 of the way there :D

There goes that idea then.

In that case I like the Mitch Thorp suggestion. Take the best young tall available with our first pick and use our last one on Thorp.

Travelling across the Nullabor in a cattle truck, sedated on Roeys, separated from a heap of big, dirty, meaty blokes by just a few flimsy partitions, while able to contemplate his AFL mortality in the privacy of his own Sheilas' dunny will bring out the best of him and affect a transformation similar to SonSon's.
Well done whiteoak you sports psychology alchemist you.
We'll land a rolled-gold hard-nut champ.

Pick 1: Jonathon Marsh
Pick 2: __________ (KPD)
Pick 3: Mitch Thorpe
Pick 4: __________ (MID)
There'll be a midfielder in there I'd presume and hopefully a KPD(second pick as harder to find late than talented mids), any players spring to mind.

Didn't you also advocate trading to get two first round picks and using them both for Jeremy Howe?

Is there anything apart from that article that says that he's worth picking up?

Not having a go, but there didn't seem to be any substance in that...

No idea, I just know he was a talent who was let down by his attitude.

Seems like he's matured now and fixed the attitude, he's hungry for a shot, happy to move interstate and he's still only 24.

If he's playing good footy he looks like he'd be worth a shot considering how cheap he would come.

read a write up in a phantom-draft on a kpf:
#26 – Carlton: Mitchell Harvey – KPF – (198cm-100kg)
One to watch. Harvey is a big strong power forward who is having a sensation year for North Adelaide in the U18’s and in his four games he has bagged 20 goals. He has really come on this year. Strong mark and a reliable kick for goal. A few things to work on, but the talent is clearly there.

sounds promising

I'm sure plenty of us have read this one,but nonetheless pertinent:
http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-06-04/buyer-beware

And in general I agree. But Mitch Thorp was a very high pick who was let go not because he spudded it up but because he pissed people off. People can have attitude adjustments like Walters did, talent was always there. Hence I think as a cheap late draft/rookie pick he could be worth the risk in combination with getting best available KPF with our 1st pick.

2nd Chance Johnny's who are our clubs specialty, he is worth considering if fitness and mentally up to it.

Knowing your policy... your too patient and in some ways, too picky. You have shot down all my suggestions.

So here is what I propose is this... since your a patient person, why dont we just let this years draft go by... So when it comes to a last minute decision, we can bring Tony Libertore out of retirement for one season and make him our full forward in the goal square.:D
