Well I reckon Goddard will be available soon and with a few years severance pay under his belt freo could make a play again.

Get him out of Melbourne spotlight with an untarnished reputation to Perth and he would be a media darling here.

With Walker coming back next year, and the Crows after draft picks I wonder if Tom Lynch would be available for a trade.

Would you be prepared to give up our first round pick for him?

tom lynch sounds good, probably prefer josh jenkins though. Is it this yr when gold-coast have to trim their list, could be a chance at somebody from over there, Dixon+Somebody shit for first rounder maybe?

We wouldn't get Dixon by himself for a (late) first rounder.

dixon + SOmebody Shit X 2 for First Rounder + 2nd Rounder or is he considered way 2 good??

i like josh jenkins, not sure what we'd have to give though. Also very keen on drafting Jonathon Marsh as well as Mitch Thorpe.
Thing is Pav will be gone soon and Jenkins and Thorpe could probably lead an attack, Jonathon Marsh would provide good depth but can also be played through the middle. His selection would not be as he is the best forward or the best midfielder but more high reward but 2 chances so less likely to fail. Think it is essential we look at trading as well as at least one KPF in the draft Marsh provides cover as 2

It would probably be hard to take Josh Jenkins off the crows as they recruited him to Replace Tippett. Knowing the crows, they would demand a decent draft pick. I rather let the crows rot. They have never been in a period where they had 4-6 years out of finals. They are long overdue for that.

I wouldn't mind Shaun Mckernan off them and get him in the PSD.

Dixon is Goldcoasts only decent tall forward option.
Would not even think of trading him unless its for a key forward + something else in return.

Dont think much of Jenkins
Their Tom lynch is the better forward and more suited to our gameplan and modern footballs gamestyle.

Whether it is by trade or picking a mature age forward like Brown from Werribee or Mitch Thorpe we need to get a fairly plug and play forward option as well (likely) getting another in the draft.
While Howson and Taberner are both showing glimpses, the reality is they are about two years away from best 22 players and we need an option for next year which doesn't rely on Bradley (coming back from a knee), an aging Pav or perhaps Hannath after he has had a pre-season to get more prepared for a forward role.

Crows will not trade Jenkins/Lynch nor GC Dixon so you can forget that. Likewise I would kill for Black but he has hid his breakout season now so North would not be interested in trading.

The same reasons most clubs didn't. What that specific reason is, I don't know. But the cloud's over his character seem to have disappeared.

I can't speak for all clubs, but I know for a fact that the reason at least one club put a red line through him full stop was because they were worried about his history of concussions (not helped by the king hit). They thought another big hit could be the end of his career.

Full of heaps of 'It is understoods', is there a key forward we haven't been linked to?

FREMANTLE has joined the race to sign Richmond forward Jack Riewoldt.
The dual Coleman medallist is in the Dockers' sights to fill the void left by power forward Matthew Pavlich when he retires.
After failed bids to secure forwards Mitch Clark from Brisbane two seasons ago and Travis Cloke from Collingwood last year with multi-million dollar deals, it is understood Fremantle will escalate its bid for Riewoldt if he leaves the Tigers.
But Riewoldt is not a free agent and if he wanted to depart Richmond, an acceptable trade deal would need to be negotiated. He has played 127 senior games and booted just over 300 goals since his debut in 2007, but has often been lambasted for his petulant behaviour and unacceptable on-field antics towards Tiger teammates.
The Dockers also made an early bid to lure Hawthorn superstar Lance Franklin back home to WA.
But Franklin, 26, looks destined for a switch to Greater Western Sydney on a record AFL financial package predicted to be in the region of $12 million over six years.
Dockers powerbrokers have continued a sweeping search for a power forward in their succession planning for the eventual loss of Pavlich.

Article says Richmond "free agent" in the headline. Stopped reading from that point.

It would require a hefty trade to land Riewoldt. The way Bond operates at the trade table, I doubt we would be able to get it done.

Only one word on this article "Hackdorn"

That could be said for Freo and seventeen other teams in the competition.

we would have the money for him no doubt, but I dont reckon he will go anywhere. As said by another poster, the way bond operates, there is no way we will satisfy richmond, who would want a couple of first rounders.

would be nice to have him though wouldnt it?

We'd have a better a chance at snaring Tom Boyd, that happening would be a super long shot.

We will have to rely on the draft, and hope we can get a quality kpf at pick 18.

agreed, im trying to think of what currency we have to give... and in reality the answer is not much, in my opinion giving up hill or fyfe is unthinkable, and it would pretty much cost us that and more i would say :(...

GWS are chasing a ruckman, so potentially zac clarke, but he is newly re-signed and with the way he has held the ruck up this year, I wouldnt want to lose him anyway.... as you say, i think we are just going to have to get lucky ala north melbourne with drew petrie (pick in the 50's)

My north supporting mates tell me that they don't feel lucky at all. Petrie has been awful this year and has always been lacking when playing quality teams or finals.

I agree, although Boyd is a KPF/Ruck. It is just that he won't be ready to produce from season 1, and we need decent ruck stocks.

If we can't satisfy Richmond's wants in regards to a trade for Reiwoldt, why don't they just offer him $250,000 under his value and not be satisfied for any trade offered? It sounds like a great way to hold your players to ransom.

If Buddy goes to GWS, we can afford Jack at a sizable contract in the PSD.
