Is Josh Smith a chance to do a Podsiadly? 195cm, 105kg, continues to kick goals and take bags of marks.

Also noticed Alir Alir snag 5 goals on the weekend. 195cm late developer.

Darcy Cameron continues to play in the ruck. Damn the WAFL being full of short people, although it may mean he drops a bit.

William Rioli is too young this year right? 29 goals in 7 games of ressies and colts so far.

The 22-year-old won the Lefroy Medal as best-on-ground in the representative game last weekend against the NEAFL Eastern Conference at Skoda Stadium, gathering 23 disposals, 11 marks, 18 hit-outs, four tackles and kicking 3.3 in Tassie's 15.11 (101) to 8.13 (61) victory.

After the match, McCulloch said he still wanted to prove himself at the highest level.

Bart McCulloch - I wonder if he has the potential to play as a Forward, who ruck 10-20% of the game. Looks like a very handy rookie pick up. Has been invited to the Vic State screening so we will get to see how good he is.

He was drafted by Brisbane, but was injured for the 2-3 years he was on there list.

Just some food for thought here, but John Giles can kick a goal, including 4 against Essendon earlier this year, gets played majority forward and has been disgruntled ever since he's been there. Still talks on their board that they're resigned to seeing him leave.

he's mainly a ruckmen isn't he?

Thats a better call Lach. Darling goes missing and will get in Maynes way. They play a similar role, only Mayne does it better. We need a gorrilla and Josh Kennedy would be a perfect fit. He works hard, is hungry and will snag a couple of Colemans during his career.
Would be gut wrenching seeing Steve in the ochre but would be a win win for both clubs.
Solidly delusional on all points.

Lewis Johnston for Adelaide kicked 6 today. I know it was against Melbourne but what are people's thoughts on potentially recruiting him? Doesn't seem to be part of their long term plans (seems to be behind Walker, Jenkins and Lynch) but could be useful to us.

Personally don't think we need anyone, we seem to be doing perfectly well with what we have. We get Jon Griffin back next year, if Griffo and Clarke spend 50/50 ruck/forward we'll have plenty of height and contested marking capabilities in our forward line.

Just like he's been fit every game this year. We did fine without him. Just keep filling the team with talent and we'll score goals. Key forwards aren't a necessity in AFL these days. A couple of teams chock full of key position talent sit firmly within the bottom 10. Sydney seem to be doing worse with Tippett, their forward entries have become predictable. As long as you have a tall target occasionally as a get out option you can do fine. Clarke and Griffin could fill that role for us.

I understand what your saying but imo we need a backup key forward. Jack Watts for example would be nice because he can ruck a bit so maybe Clarke + Watts combination could work for us.
Not 2 many sides play 2 rucks but it seems to be working well for us.
Still need a back up imo though as surely you can see the added scoring power with Pav in.
Tabs should come good but not next year (Hope like hell he proves me wrong)

As long as the ruck has some natural instinct when playing forward I agree with the vast majority of your post.

Next year will be his last I reckon, he needs replacing and the replacement needs back up as well. When was the last time Clarke, Griffin or Hannath kicked MORE than 2 goals in a game. In most games two play theyd be lucky to contribute two between them. Ill leave Sandilands out of the picture as he'll be gone as well. Ruckmen aren't good forwards. I challenge anyone who says we don't need a kpf to name a player drafted as a ruckman that has gone from being a ruckman to playing as the number one key forward and actually been successful doing so.

If there is truly no kpfs worth it this year use trade to satisfy our need and then wait until next year to draft the youngsters. Next years draft is apparently full of quality talls
