Has to be the right person though. Brisbane did it after 2009 and it'll take them longer to rebuild now because it didn't work out.

I tend to think while Pav is there we should look more so at younger players, not 18 year olds but younger than 30. If Pav left there would be a clear case for a forward line veteran.

I agree. I think Brisbane were more hurt by what they gave up for those trades than the quality of the player who came over. I wouldn't want us to give up any trade-able currency while there are options on the free agency table.

I have a horrible feeling ,and actually mentioned it to a mate while watching the St Kilda game on the weekend, that Ross may give Kosi a year or two? I'm not saying I agree with it, I don't like him as a player.

As a free agent I wouldn't have too much of a problem with it. He can kick a goal or two when he is played in his correct position.

Structurally he would be a good fit. I'm not sure his defensive work is great though. If we got him free and paid him peanuts we could do worse I guess.

From the previous list, the only KPP's we could realistically think of finding ourselves with (and I'm using the terms "KPP" and "realistically" with no little reach) are Alipate Carlile and Luke McGuane. Buddy or Taylor would be miraculous. But I sense that we are setting examples for the long term and whilst exploring all avenues I see us buying in a couple of 70 series 4.2 diesel with good rubber and 500k on the clock, over the 2011 V8 Range Rover with 125k and 22" Gold rims with matching brake calipers.

Why wouldn't you consider structuring a trade around those two? Don't like Black? He seemed okay on the weekend.

He's certainly no world beater, and at 192cm and 88kg he is hardly a pack buster. He's a third tall for mine, and with not much heartstring.

Is he worth a swap for Sheridan?/ No way in the world for my money.

Neale, Mitchie, Mellington, Crozier, Simpson, Sheridan, Sutcliffe. That is a fair few "guns" to have on a waiting list.

Yes well how likely is it that all of the players you listed will turn out to be superstars? Sheridan has shown too much at WAFL level for a 19 year old to be let go. Unless it is a very suitable trade.

Interesting the use of jibe and not jib :p Learnt something new - god bless BF forums.

Jibe - To change course by swinging a fore-and-aft sail across a following wind.
Jib - The triangular sail set between the foretopmast head and the jib boom.

Phrase is 'cut of your jib' - first used by Sir Walter Scott in 1824 to represent someone's general appearance or demeanour. So jibe is a malaproprism, but still with a nautical theme.

We have a bit of a surplus of developing mids. What about sending Sheridan home for Aaron Black? I like the cut of his jibe.

Agree EShed we need to consider this sort of trade strongly if the big fish like HT is not going to happen.
Shane Kersten another maybe?? Just going on key WA talls playing in Vic not getting games.

Sheridan is not a bad player by any means but is probably depth with Crozier, Mello, Neale, Mitchie, Simpson, Schloithe and hopefully Mora fighting for spots as well.

That free agent list - didn't Gumbleton only sign a 1 year extension so would be out of contract again at end of the year. Proven player seems to be basically over his medical issues, shorter term option while others develop.

Edit; possible banzhammer forgotten - would need to see what happens there as well.

I think we are all talking pipe dreams does here does anyone seriously think we are going to get an a grade KP player to leave a club that has a premiership window open .

Goddard left the Saints only because their window was closed and the club is in rebuild mode
Pearce left Port for the same reason .

Melbuorne has nothing to offer us and as for the rest of the free agents they are TOO OLD[Cloke]or they breakdown if you just look at them[Gumbleton]

Last year there were 2 and one was Tippett????? NO THANKYOU!!! and the other[Clarke] lied and went to Melb for money lots of money.
So where do we go from here Iwould be looking once again at the mature rookie list of players from around the country.
Someone strong can take a contested mark and hasn't been given a go but is on the right side of 30 but he must be mobile.
O\k you posters get out there we need him for next season see what you can find

Still shits me we let Tippett go to Sydney. He could be on our list. He might have just about stopped sulking by now and be starting to think about paying finals footy for us
