Brutally honest question. Would you want any WA guys from collingwoods list to return home to join us?

I would have taken Toovey in a heartbeat, but got howled down here by the BF experts.

Harry O, if he could lose the ego and the shit disposal, would be ok.

And fasolo goes ok.

But I'm content with what we've got so far.

Thought so. Id take toovey no questions asked if he didnt do his knee.

I would of creamed my Pants If harry O was our Centre half back and McPharlin on the goal square.

I rate Fasolo but he might fit on the other Half forward flank with Mayne. We already have Walters and Ballas.

Since when has Hannath been a full forward? Is this what we are reduced to? Hoping that every new ruckman or any big bodied person becomes our messiah at full forward?

Well it seems that Hannath is our only hope for now until Zac Clarke or Sandi comes back.

ABC was running with the Watts to Freo story as well.

I'm sticking with the angle that if he survives a Ross Lyon grilling and both still want the deal to happen he could be good for us. Mind you professional sport or not it's going to be harsh having to go and tell one of our players they've been traded to the demons.

Trade picks is more considerate, those faceless victims.

A few would probably jump at it - Chricton, Mellington for example but yeah. Actually think Neeld seams reasonable when you listen to him but what is dragging him down is the all the stuff that happened before he got there and the fact they are now rebuilding again for the second time since there last decent year (2006).

WTF!!??

Without doubt the WORST speaker as a head coach that I have ever heard.

I wouldn't run through the banner for that spud.

Utterly hopeless.

Gumbleton from Essendon is out of contract again this year, has been relatively injury free this year, and still not getting a run on the park due to their abundance of talls. What are the chances we will make a play for him this year? He seems to have found decent form.

That is really interesting to see. The first time I have seen that. He just looks like he is talking to thin air and repeating cliche after cliche. FFS address your players man.

Please go to North Jack.

Pretty please. You pea-hearted blouse.
I was pretty surprised to see North in contention. And last year, too. Surely their ethos is a bit removed from pampered private schoolers who cry and cuddle mum when drafted?

We do not need Jack Watts and we do not need Buddy Franklin. Ross and Freo don't really buy into that bullshit. I'm pretty confident that we can build blokes like Taberner into quality key forwards. You don't need, and unfortunately you can't have, a Pavlich every fifteen years. You can have a consistent spread of good players who play to their peak and play as a unit – look at blokes like Clancee Pearce. Nothing special in terms of shape or skill, but just up for playing good footy for a coach they respect.

Maybe that'd work for Watts. Maybe. But he is a number one draft pick. He can't control where was picked, but even the most inept of clubs don't pick absolutely spuds at number one. He should've been playing with a point to prove, even just for his own credibility and ego, and instead slunk down. The bloke is pretty big and is still one of the softest in the competition. When Ballantyne and Deboer have more confidence in physical contests (I mean in terms of size and shape, not ability or anything), you know it's a mental cloak that'll take a while to really remove. If at all.

I just don't think it's worth it. Focus on our players who we have and give them more money. Jack Watts is a pussoir.

I would sack Neeld immediately based on those videos. Completely clueless and mind numbing. It boggles the mind how they could hire him in the first place, when presumably his interviews were fairly similar examples of presenting his case.

They were guaranteed to lose game after game before he even coached a game.

He obviously rates himself highly to agree to let the cameras inside in the first place.

Cringeworthy stuff.

Malthouse sold them a pup and Gary Lyon bought in like the mug that he is.

Bushie your not inspired by Neeld and blind Freddy can see why.Watts along with the other Melbourne list would have to feel the same way.Maybe an inspirational coach as in our bloke could bring out in Watts whatever he had to make him the numero uno draft choice

I've think I've made my points often enough in the Watt's thread.:D

But to summarise, there has to be a level of personal responsibility and personal pride in your performance somewhere. And his lack of physical development, (still 88kg's after 4 full pre-seasons), is testament to this kids lack of endeavour.

I'm not prepared to lay the blame completely at the feet of the MFC. As much as I hate them.

Quite true, question is I think the Lion can Tame the megar Demon.

Wouldn't go near Gumby now. Not because he wouldn't fill a hole in our forward line, but because we need to make a statement that our offers don't just sit on the table indefinitely.

He knocked us back, was injury prone, is living on 1 year contracts in a performance drug lab.

The next guy that wants home will pay more consideration to our offer if we pass on Gumby.

The thing you have to think about is the culture of the place.

You don't want to devalue the blokes who have always been Fremantle players. Every club has to be cut-throat, and romanticism only gets you so far. But our duty should be to develop a guy like Taberner. I just don't think bringing in these big names is something we should be doing. We have a healthy list, and a list that's got plenty of young punks coming through. And it's not like the 2012 draft is the last we'll ever do.
