Mediocre forward plays one game stars in a shellacking. Move on people.

What a nice and smart person you are, Wouldn't it be a nice Idea to to see more games to say he is an actual dud?

Did you at least watch the Video? At least Jesse White can mark the bloody thing unlike Jack Anthony.

All this debate. All these problems.

They go away for the low, low price of 1.5 MILLION.

I'm just saying.

Wheres the dislike button for th above post :(

We were never in the hunt for Buddy.
We are not going to offer him crazy $$$.

We have some great young players that will all be wanting more $$$ soon.
If we got Buddy we would not be able to hang onto them all.

We have always been after a cheaper option.
Leaving enough $$$ to give our up an coming players more plus get Jaeger bomb to return home the following year.

Ok Jaeger bomb is me dreaming, but if somehow he was interested we would have the money for him also.

White has long been pigeon-holed as a backup ruck at the Swans and since the rise of Mike Pike, the opportunities have dried up somewhat. Despite your assessment on the "one good game", he has infact shown some ability resting up forward in previous seasons. Getting a sustained run of opportunity in a team setup like the Swans would not be easy.
I am certain he would be a better fit for us and if there was a chance to grab him for a reasonable offer I reckon it would be nuts not to give it a go. Do you not think he would be playing for us right now if he was on our list?

Guaranteed superstar.

It's like money in the bank. Don't mess around with 600+ for an injury prone hack. Don't persist with makeshift solutions (I love Kep but he's no key forward). Don't be a tightarse.

1.5.

Its called planning ahead for the future.
Walters, Fyfe, Crozier, Mayne, Sutcliffe, Mitchie, Ibbo, Spurr, will all deserve more $$$ next contract.
Get buddy and cant afford it so 1 or 2 of them might leave.

Get a 400-700k player we can keep them all, plus still have room to try and poach the Jaegerbomb.

All we need is a good(doesnt have to be great) key forward to play as the 2nd tall.
We get that and we are a top 2 team.

Can you tell im still pissed about Jaeger going to GC and really want him.

Just had a look at the early draft preview for next year. Outside of the player likely to go number 1 there are no key forwards in the top twenty projected picks. Granted, a lot can change between now and the draft, but trading for a key forward seems our best bet and our first pick should be on the table for either Watts, Gumbelton or Black. Watts and Black are both contracted so it will take a lot to get either one of the to the club. If Mitchie keeps dominating at WAFL level, pairing him with our first pick might be enough to get Black to the club, which is my preference. The Kangas would demand a lot at the trade table as quality young talls are in such high demand and short supply. Anyone who thinks it would take less then a player and our first pick doesn't understand how trading players in the afl works. An excellent midfielder or flanker player is required to acquire a decent or promising tall, because the former element is in greater supply.

Watts is uncontracted at the end of this year.

what about a mature age recruit there must be some reasonable age KPP playing in Adelaide or VFL whom has been passed over that can fill he position and all he needs is a chance.

Gumbelton is not the answer because he can't play more than a couple of games before he breaks down
There have been some great kids in the NT is there a player cutting it up north thats worth a go

Looks like Jesse white might want to find a new home.

Sydney talls : Tippett, pyke, mummy,Reid, white and goodes

Once all those mentioned are fit white will not get a game.

White is overrated, he kicked 3 goals on the weekend but not one was from a mark. Great Athlete, poor footballer.

Still reckon he'd strengthen our kpf depth, which isn't that hard really.

I think that's most of the problem.

People are all up in arms at out KPP stocks and are jumping at any log over 192cm's and 85kg's, despite their obvious deficiencies.

The SAME people were saying this prior to Kep and Griff going down, yet we still seem to be going ok, although it's not ideal.

I don't think that it's quite as bad as some people think, and we certainly don't need/won't pull the trigger on any crab that physically suits our requirements.

Fair points.I'm sure lloydy and bondy are working hard to strengthen this deficiency.

You're wasting your time bra.

He's a #1 pick, so he must be good. He's just hiding it.

He was good. Being drafted by a a club that has shown an inability to develop any of what seems like 47,482 straight top #5 draft picks plays into Watts favour. He's not a guaranteed thing the day he walks out of MFC, but he's the closest thing to a top #5 draft pick a lot of clubs can get.

"Hey want a young, tall, athletic, highly rated junior?"

"Sure. What's the catch?"

"That 'juniors' thing was 5 years ago..."

"Hmmm... What will it cost?"

KPP are an investment. Rather than hitting the stock market or buying some property to grow that investment, Melbourne have just chucked Watts under the mattress. The mattress is dirty, old and lives - the mould makes it a living organism - on the floor of a burnt out crack den.

According to most edubacatedpinions on here,he definitely insisted on being thrown on top of the mattress and asked if they'd call him Jackeee.

I've said this ad nauseum on here. But...

Just where, exactly, has this wonderful junior ability shown itself at AFL level?

People can blame the MFC all they like, but good young players show their class and ability despite their, and their clubs circumstances.

Cream naturally rises to the top!

In JW's case, he has been tried as a forward, a back, an orange peeler and as a boot studder. And the only place he showed a little consistency was when played as a loose man/floater in defence with little to no accountability.

Too many flaky half-back flankers is what got our club into the shyte in the first place.
