I still mull over the Fact we could of taken Big Q Lynch for 2-3 seasons last year. It wont solve the problem but would of been a useful pick up

Don't worry about that. Q stick's honeymoon period is drawing to an end.
He is back to butchering his kicks as well as he ever did with West Coast.

I was about to say get Alan Didak but he is not a key forward... He would fit with west coast though.

I have never felt so comfortable with out list management team.

The fact that we have already ruled out Buddy, I believe it means that we have had a look at the free agents and out of contract players currently available and have a hit list.

It also means we have had a look at future contract and determined that if we are going to hold onto our young player we can not afford Buddy. More than likely we asked the question early, got told we needed to offer 1.2 to 1.4 mill and said thanks but no thanks.

Let's sit back and speculate, have fun, offer draft picks and know that Lloyd and Boyd will make the right decision as they have in the past.

Broughton, Peake, Drum, Pearce, Griffin, Warnock were all great trades.

Faulks looks like a loss at the moment, although it only cost us 6 draft positions.

Signing Moller looks very good at the moment, although Tex Walker would have been better.

Yep that's a pretty good assessment of where it's all at at the moment.I'm also quite convinced that the avalanche of talls who went like dominoes before our second pick last draft, blindsided our recruiting team.I reckon they had someone in the cross-hairs.
Chris Bond, Ross Lyon, Lloydy, Ben and Stephen.
I was surprised to hear that Rosich sits on this committee, although on reflection it makes sense.

Hows Moller going at the moment? Actually how is Howson developing? He was the other Forward (Along with Taberner) we got in last years rookie draft.

I've said this ad nauseum on here. But...

Just where, exactly, has this wonderful junior ability shown itself at AFL level?

You could say the same about most 22y.o AFL players. Particularly KP players.

He was a very talented junior; he hasn't delivered at the top level. That certainly doesn't make him an orphan, as plenty of talented juniors don't make it. It sure as hell doesn't mean he's a sure thing either. Which is why if you're bringing a 'Watts' type to the club it has to be low risk (read: cheap). Which is all I'm saying, at the right price we should look at it. I've enjoyed the Kepler Bradley era, something similar would be a pretty good outcome for our club.

People can blame the MFC all they like, but good young players show their class and ability despite their, and their clubs circumstances.

Cream naturally rises to the top!

Yep. Talented young players never fail to show their class and ability despite personal/club circumstances. Talented players ALWAYS make it. Every single time. Without fail...

It was only a season ago that our club very nearly gave up on Walters AND Pearce.

In JW's case, he has been tried as a forward, a back, an orange peeler and as a boot studder. And the only place he showed a little consistency was when played as a loose man/floater in defence with little to no accountability.

MJ?...

Too many flaky half-back flankers is what got our club into the shyte in the first place.

...Ibbotson?

Plenty of young players take a while to get their shit together. It doesn't mean they never will.

I heard from a pretty good source that Simpson only came into consideration late, after other teams ruled him out due to the story about his kid, and that they otherwise had been looking at mason shaw.

I think you might be lost, this is Bigfooty Freo. No rational post here please :P

1 year contract for Kosi
3 year contract for Gumby
Total cost $1m over three years no trades required

I see your Kosi and raise you a Clarke.

As for Gumby, I just can't see us taking the risk. I would rather we punt on some lesser known KPFs from the Boonies and then go hell for leather after Norf's Black. Really rate that kid.

2 examples worth thinking of.

Jordan Lisle and Jack Gunston.

Both of them were not getting games and left for more opportunity and are both looking good now. We probably just aren't as across the fringe key position players as all the clubs are. I am confident we will get something done.

You're a cracking poster prattsta, and always have been. But we'll have to agree to disagree on this one.

For such a highly rated junior to never have taken one single game by the neck and shaken the shit out of it, let alone having never fired a realistic shot in over 60 games, tells me all that I need to know.

Funny you mentioned Ibbotson... Yeah he struggled for the 1st 3 years, same with Duffield.

Didnt Dale Kickett play with 3 different clubs in 5 years before he had 7-8 years of good service at Freo?

Would you rate Justin Westoff to Freo? Freo could get him in the end of the 2014 season as a free agent!

You mean the Justin Westhoff who is marginally harder than Jack Watts, more lethargic than a sloth on Mogodon, should be charged for fraud for getting an AFL contract and has really bad hair??

That Justin Westhoff?

Yep him.

199 cm, 95 kg. so far he has kicked 160 goals in 122 games.

Would you want Jay Schulz at Port as well?

Look buddy.

Just get yourself a double-decker, 3 trailer cattle Road Train, load them all up....but dip and drench them at the border first... and send the lot of them over!

So you want me to send over decent Key forwards or slaves or live cattle over the border?

Don't want Reiwoldt unless its of the Nick variety, breaks the no D!ckhead rule in our list management model. Jacks a great forward but strikes me as petulant and not that team focused.

IMO reckon GWS have Franklin in their sights and if Buddy signs with hawks, will just transfer that cash to Jack. We are Talking a couple of million better difference compared to any tiger contract and assume a five year contract.

Jack R may be a bit of a princess but he does deliver great performances and intensity, though inconsistently. I am certain his princess attitude problems could be turned around, particularly with the culture we have developing.

Would be an awesome grab for Freo.
