I don't get why people call for Fyfe to play forward.

The key forward is the hardest spot to fill.
He is 192cm's, and can take great marks.
We could draft more midfielders or play Crozier, Michie, Mellington, etc etc in the midfeld but do not have anyone else who can play KPF.
With Pav out for three weeks, and it raining on Sunday are we better of to play Fyfe 50/50 forward and midfield and to go in with an extra midfeilder.
Playing Fyfe\Mundy in small stints in the foward line can create a miss match where a midfield is defending Fyfe\mundy who are 2-3 inch's taller than them.
We can not find a mature age KPF to save our selves, but I think finding another mid would be a lot easier.
This is why the temptation will always be there, I like the idea of him heading forward for 5 minutes bursts to rest and shake a tag.

What? They are nothing like each other. Pav has always been a key forward first, whereas Fyfe is a genuine midfielder. The same reason we called for years for Pavlich to play Key Forward.

Are we underselling how good Mayne is as a key forward, in the new era of smaller KPfs'
ie "Chris Mayne is the tough forward every other AFL club covets, says Damian Barrett"

This could be more relevant than we think. Aren't interchange restrictions coming into play next year?In the "olden" days, this is exactly what the midfielders did for a rest - instead of going to the bench for a rest, the rover/ruckrover would go to the forward pocket.
I'm not writing Taberner off. I'm just looking at history. I can't think of a single rookie listed forward that has made it apart from Podsiadly and he was a mature ager. (And Crameri as well but he's no kf IMO) With mature agers you could count the amount of kfs that offer more than White on one hand. And I'm talking guys aged 21+.
Happy to be proven wrong and am actually 50/50 on tabs making it ATM but it is not a definite that he'll make it. We need to have all bases covered. History shows the success rate with any pick we are likely to get in the next two years in very low. I would be more than happy with a stop gap option whether that's White or someone else. I just threw White forward as he's the only one out there I can see that we'd be able to get for a resemble price and has shown something at afl level. I might be in the minority here but I actually this White is a decent player, but nothing spectacular.
WAFL KPF's are better though, thats the difference. The bloke is not mobile and takes very few grabs. Why play him ahead of Tabs when it a perfect opportunity to develop him in the big time. It quite simply is a no brainer and i will eat my hat if our recuiters have even considered it.
Because midfielders who can kick goals and turn games around win Browlows, the umpires take note.I don't get why people call for Fyfe to play forward.
Noticed Fyfe spent more time forward in the Derby.
Dont want him spending alot of time forward as he is just too damn good at getting the ball through the middle.
Would love to see him going forward more often and resting in there instead of the bench.
suban + 1st Round or something like that is what I'd assume the trade would be and may well be unders however if he wants out Richmond have to take what they can get in which case we might get away with suban + 2nd roundOf course I'd give up a 1st round pick for one of these two, but they're not up for trade ( are they?). My point is along the more realistic lines of what others have posted with regards to who we might target/ be available in relation to a trade in an effort to improve our KPF stocks. Players such as Black, White and Crameri. If any of these required a1st or 2nd round pick, I don't think that the club would do it for the reasons I gave above. Your first sentence is correct though.Obviously whether or not you give up a pick depends on the quality of the player you are getting. Are you seriously saying you wouldn't trade your first pick for someone of the quality of Jeremy Cameron or Joe Daniher?

Our defensive pressure doesn't need a lot of work. The forward line will need tinkering if we want to lift the cup.
Darren Jarman is a perfect example of a mid/forward.

We'll give you Darling if you give us Fyfe![]()
