You expect a talented player to kick bags in a lower league and he is doing that. There are 17 other guys on the field who have to let him have that last kick for a goal.

For as much as he might be playing in the U-17 Girls division, when he plays forward he is kicking lots of goals. As you expect he should.

How strong is the TFL though. Anyone know?
Not Flash. They can produce brilliant footballers like Chricton( that's for you Seppo) but its not a very high level. I think Fev went down on one of his jaunts and kicked 17. His form could be based on a gun midfield feeding him the ball for example. He might do well at Peel though. Hard to step up playing against good fullbacks though.

Fev kicked 17 in the level below the TFL

What was his vfl form like prior to the tsl. Good mature aged players have come from the tsl before with Howe, Hall and Callinan all from down that way. Although Callinan did play sanfl first before his chance came.

Any chance your club will let him go for free considering you got Tippett for nothing? :D

Not sure we have any pie contracts with White. At the start of the year we would've wrapped him in a bow and sent him with chocolates and flowers if you took his contract

Gumby is an idiot and so is his manager. They should have seen the writing on the wall before signing again out of 'loyalty'.

Goes both ways. If Michie walked out on us at the end of this season, I reckon many of us would think it unfair, as we'd supported him through nearly two years of injury.

Bear in mind that the Dons kept the faith with Gumby for something like 5 or 6 years. I can understand why Gumby did it.

I have no idea why the Dons chose to hang onto him. They don't play nice at the trade table... and they don't want to discard anything that has any value at all. Even if it's as a third string back-up. I think it's as simple as that.

Maybe, I think you everyone are overrating White. He will struggle when he is not the third forward.

Taberner, Silvagni, Clarke and Sandi don't seem to be doing too well as focal points.

It's Kepler or nuthin' as the second tall. And Kep is coming off an ACL.

White is showing some potential. Unfortunately he's probably shown too much to be cheap. But I reckon he'll be very useful. He's also been pretty durable, off top of my head. If we can get him for a reasonable price... why not.

And Mayne isn't a second tall.

St. Kilda gave up a first round pick for Tom Lee who was in a very similar situation.
It's not really similar though is it? I'm thinking most TSL sides would struggle beat the stronger WAFL ressies sides. Hell the TSL premier lost to a NEAFL side in the foxtel cup this year (who then promptly got their arse handed to them by Claremont in the next round).
Thorpe as a solution to our KPF woes is a pipe dream. We'd do just a well plucking the tallest of the high scoring forwards out of Saturday Amatures A-grade. At least we wouldn't have to pay for his flights..

Not until we hear another club come in and say 'Oh, Jesse is looking a good prospect'. Til that happens is in your favour

Will be interesting to see what Sydney does with him at the end of the year. May want to keep him I would have thought, send Reid to the backline.

Edit: Forgot about Goodes, could be pumping up Whites trade value after all!

Sydney should give us White for cheap because Ross Lyon has done many favors for the them in terms of salary cap dumping players while at the Saints.

Reckon that'll be the plan if we retain him.

If that worked 3 years ago with White and made him kick 2-3 goals a game would've done it a while back

It was definitely beneficial but on the other hand if we have a large, fast, contested marking body it means that genuine key defenders aren't standing Chris Mayne.

White may not be THE guy, but at the moment I think he is worth the punt. He looks like he could outrun and out-mark Bradley.

Jesse White would be worth a punt. Even at the worst, White can be a 30-40 goal a season forward if he plays for us.

Best case scenario he can be a focal point in the goal square, worst case scenario he could be another Jack Anthony.

If you look at the Saints trading record under Ross Lyon, it has been interesting. Two good trades was pick 26 for Adam Schneider and Sean Dempster for pick 26 and Steven King for pick 90 in the 2007 trade week.
