well I'm out of here after that statement of a guy who destroyed the nicnat/cox combo not long ago. An they call Essendon supporters deluded . . . It's been fun and I am happy to just discuss this, I do understand all supporters overprice their own club list which is normal.

Jonathan Griffin has also destroyed the NicNat/Cox combo. When they were actually at peak fitness.

We have three ruckman on our list who are better than Ryder.

Anyway back to Gumbleton. No way it a club going to overpay for a player who can't pass a medical test at multiple clubs.

Have always liked gumby and would love to see him in purple - maybe a change in environment could be beneficial. Was great to see some contested marking in those hi lights.

I would get gumbleton in the psd and give him a 2 year deal on cheap wages. Freo have a good habit getting gems in the 2nd and 3rd round of drafts.

Exactly and that's why us Essendon supporters are going WTF why isn't he playing ones and still place some solid value on him, you can't blame us with that highlight reel from one game those contested marks and clunking them with one bite of the cherry he looks great. Like I've previously said he has apparently shown no signs of what did cripple him previously.

All in all I personally hope the best for Gumby whatever he decides as he does deserve it and maybe the number 2 draft pick will live up to the hype that surrounded him in his early days.

Get him flying across Oz every second weekend and see how his back fairs then.

Correct me if I'm wrong on this one...

Charlie Dixon (200 cm, 105 kg) is contracted at the suns until 2015. He is not on their quite large injury list but he has only played two games since round 6. I realise he has missed some games with an achilles injury this year but half a season????

I wonder if we'd be any chance of making a play for him. Being a Gold Coast fella, he may not be keen to move but he'd be worth a crack.

He was injured came back too soon and re-injured. He will be their ruck/forward for the next couple of years and I doubt they'll trade him. Would take him though.

What do Essendon believe Morabito is worth? More or less than Gumbleton?

I think they are both third round picks now, based on risk and history. Except of course that Anthony has played a season of football.

I'm not trying to bring down Mora but if we can be realistic about HIS value then we can expect the same of other teams and their chronically injured players.

If Essendon can get a better pick from another team then more power to them. In my mind, I wouldn't pay any of our first half of picks on him. Essendon can pay him another year and again play Daniher ahead of him.

GTFO
Mora should not not not be considered for trade.
His current market value is at his absolute lowest & can only rise.
I'm backing him in to come back as a star!

I completely agree with you. I was only trying to highlight the comparison between Morabito and Gumbleton. If we were to trade Morabito we should expect the same as Essendon get for Gumbleton and I don't expect it to be a first round pick.

Honestly I don't know much about Morabito, worth more or less I couldn't say I. But ill say one thing and it has been stated on the Essendon trade thread "demand and supply" certainly swings in Essendons favour as KPP are worth more. Last year EFC was offered pick 22 and 24 for Hooker and I was stagged and I was hoping the trade would be done, lets be honest all hooker was known for is couldn't chase buddy twice in one game. Now this year Im glade he wasn't traded he is worth more with the way he is performing and the stats indicate that too.

Essendon won't get rid of 2 KKP unless we gain over for them, only because if we give to many up we will have no depth which is now one of our strengths. It more a list management thing IMO same with Bellchambers atm it would have to be a great deal as we don't have any other ruckman after Ryder and TBC since it is expected Hille will retire at years end.

This is Gumby last weekend in the VFL he kicked 5.4 and he hasn't shown signs of his previous injuries that have crippled him for about a year. Far from mediocre the performance he has shown.

--------------------------------------------------------------------
The thing with gumby is I know murphys law will kick in and once he is traded he will kill it and not miss a game for 5 years, sorta like the doggies with higgins

actually i just took pears out of the context which is why I think it's a win for you as you barley lose anything and gain some good stuff.
Wouldn't mind Pears as well and this is why i mentioned him but would much prefer just to grab gumby as Freo do have some depth, minimal and not very quality but some depth in key defenders department.

If you believe in fate I think Gumby may end up with us....I mean, he's basically Keplar V2.0
Similar nickname to Keplars style, similar draft pick, never really delivered at Essendon either and now the final piece of the jigsaw -heading back home to WA around a similar age !!

Speaking about Freo defence, what has happened with Silvagni? He started his career great but now vanished.

Had to play forward a bit and gets smashed, down back he competes hard and is there abouts but not quite there. He got smashed by Walker last yr in the finals and it's as if he blames himself for the loss as his confidence is obiviously heaps down but is slowly building again. Not Vanished as he's played half the season but not over-achieving.

He seems like a confidence player and hasn't had the run of games to build any

Re: Silvagni - It is hard to play a tall forward in our setup let alone being a defender filling in up forward. Silvagni competes hard wherever he is and IMHO is a better option than Taberner up there whilst also giving us cover down back whilst McPharlin is out.

better option yes however I think the thing with tab's is that they're trying to give him a few games and develop him a bit more than with silvagni. If they were the same age im sure sos would get the nod wk in wk out

No. I'm saying that Jessie White is a crab who would struggle to push out Jack Hannath on exposed form this year, and on his form throughout his career.

I didn't mention Pav or the GF at all.

Pity your account is cancelled... I would of loved you to think how much of a crab Jesse white is on his form last month.

The mob up the road have a few young talls that will struggle to get a gig any time soon. McGovern, McInnes and Tunbridge would all be worth a look.

Funny you mentioned that. Crows got Josh Jenkins off essendons rookie list. Crows traded pick 31 for Jenkins and essendons pick 41. Jenkins was good before his injury, 23 goals from 17 games.

Would trade a pick 40 odd for one of the eagles Rookies.

They won't trade them with us, they'd have to be delisted before we can pick them up. There is too much media fall out between Freo and WCE, that's why there hasn't been one for such a long time and the early ones never worked out for either team.

Same goes with trades between Adelaide and Port.
