I know it's not feasible to consider him in freo colours but liked the game of aaron black again tonight. Didn't kick a goal so stats would say he wasn't an effective forward but he played well higher up the field and had 19 quite effective disposals.
Just like how he moves and his athletic ability ( plus he can read the play ) , has real burst power, speed and balance which didn't fade out during the game.
North bagged a good one there...

They won't trade them with us, they'd have to be delisted before we can pick them up. There is too much media fall out between Freo and WCE, that's why there hasn't been one for such a long time and the early ones never worked out for either team.

Same goes with trades between Adelaide and Port.

If we offered a rookie the spot on our senior list all the eagles could do is:
1: let him essentially delisted himself and go to the draft
2: promote the player themselves
3: trade him to get something from him

Any player who says on the rookie list rather than a senior list is an idiot especially in McGoverns situation where he'd go to potentially 2nd kpf here rather than 4th or so there. This doesn't happen often but unless west coast want to promote him it's in their best interest to trade him.

I'm still keen on Jeremy McGovern for us.

I've thought about this as well. Pretty confident with the footy and he has a solid build already. Kicked a beauty from the pocket against us in the NAB Cup this or last year as well, so hopefully he's someone who backs himself. I played with him at North Albany but can't really remember a whole lot – most of those blokes now on AFL lists never screamed 'AFL list.'

The main issue is that, is he someone who can play 25 games a year and be reliable? Is he someone who can slot straight in? Surely Jesse White would understand the nuances and slight differences that you experience, as a key forward, in the AFL. Do we have the luxury of acclimatising McGovern? How much time would he need?

How would McGovern be any different/better than say Taberner?

Less experienced even, but McGovs seems way more adept at slotting in. Bigger body, more confidence, probably better WAFL form. I want Taberner to do well, obviously, but you'd be mental to say he looks comfortable when he plays for Freo. Just a bit out of his depth right now and doesn't do enough. In my opinion, if you're picked, you're picked to do something.

Gumbleton + first rounder for barlow?

So Gumbleton + pick 14/15 for Barlow? No.

How about Keplar +pick14/15 for Stanton?

Realistically your best option is to trade Gumbleton to bulldogs/saints first. We will offer him overs a 3 year $1M contract and Leave it to him . Essendon get .... Not much.

Hope he kicks 10 on Sunday. Ether way last year he had trade currency, not this year. He is surplus to your needs. Hird is effectively shopping him around till Crameri,Hurley, Daniher return. If he wants to stay to be loyal he'll be playing VFL next year. His call.

I wonder what the cats would want for Kersten or that other WA tall they took in that draft?
I haven't heard a lot about how they are going in the VFL though tbh

This is his third year on the rookie list, so we already have to choose whether to delist or promote him at the end of the year. We've cotton wooled him for the rest of the year so i'm hoping that means we'll promote him. Should be plenty of senior list spots available after we clear the dead wood.

at least you'll admit theres dead wood :p

Get off the juice, boy.
Gumbleton + Carlise + 1st Rounder for Barlow would do the trick though i think

Ignore him. We do.

Pity your account is cancelled... I would of loved you to think how much of a crab Jesse white is on his form last month.
You want to post a potshot at someone with a closed account about their posts? STRANGE, especially given his posts offered more football insight than most of the posters on here combined.

Ironic you said that. He took pot shots at me in the past and I moved on. I suggested getting Jesse White before anyone mentioned it. Whitoak shot it down when I 1st said it.
