Very happy with the win today, Adelaide are one of those who do take it semi seriously, to win away from home under any circumstances is a positive. After all, they cared enough last year to win the bloody thing.

Today just showed how thin our key position depth is, especially down back. I don't reckon it is a coincidence that the Crows started coming back at us after Max committed hari-kari (again). We then struggled to keep up with Perrie / Burton / Welsh. If we have Schwarze holding down a key position , we will struggle.

We could throw Gehrig back, but that will be robbing the forward line of it's potency. Ideally a fit Kosi is the answer.

This is the year Luke Ball shows us why we took him ahead of Judd. Very impressive display.

Very true. I said the same thing straight after the game on the main boards.

With Hudghton and Penny we've got two very good key defenders who we can rely on to do the job required but there doesn't appear to be a lot after them. Troy is a fourth tall at best and just doesn't have the size to go with a key forward.

I was impressed with how Kosi moved today. With the amount of time he spent on the bench they look to be easing him into the season slowly. He is definitely the obvious candidate to play at centre half back but none of us really know what plans Thomo has for him. They might want to use him in a similar role to Riewoldt although he probably doesn't have the endurance of Nick. Gehrig's got to be left at full forward like you said.

Ball was fantastic. Must have added 5-6 kg's over summer too. I know I wouldn't trade him if the eagles offered us Judd tomorrow.

Great test for Nick Stone.

Much rather him than Troy Schwarze.

What a choice to have to make. Hopefully we won't have too.

From an outside view I don't think Voss is a KPP. He only stands at 182cm.

As for you backline, IMO Maguire (is that Goose?) would be a perfect FB, with Penny at CHB and Hudghton on the third tall or the Matera types when he returns.

Maguire is a strong, fast enough and has that bit of mongrel about him.

Maguire has mongrel, that's for sure.

Actually I've thought about this, Matty Ferguson would be a good option on the shortest tall. Very disciplined & smart footballer, also excellent in the air.
