Did i not tell all of you guys geelongs forward was ordinary. I think i did. They posed the question to Damian Barrett on MMM if he would get a game with melbourne, he didnt think so. I would agree...

Talking of Hawkins btw

What about Jack Anthony? 192 cm and can take a good grab, great kick for goal. Also I dont think we have enough Jacks on the team...

If we are going to pick up a seasoned KPF we really need to just look at Q Lynch and let him fill the role at FF till Watts comes good and i'd say we will pick up either Cook or Lynch in this years draft for another young KPF.

I'm in favour of Jack Anthony but seeing as he's at Collingwood they would want far too much for him.

They want top quality picks or players for any of their garbage players (Not Jack Anthony) but expect to get players like Ablett and Judd for a can of coke.

Trading with Collingwood is near on impossible.

Trading with anyone in a position of power is always going to be difficult. They of all teams have the littlest need to trade anyone.

Jack Anthony reminds me of another Bate or Dunn.

Anthony is a stay at home FF don't know how you came up with Bate as a comparison.

Dunn is comparable in a size sense but Anthony is a very good contested grab and set shot.

I've been impressed with the improvement in Dunn but if you offered me Anthony to chuck in our forward line instead I'd do it in a heartbeat.

I think you have overrated him a bit there. Walker is a slighty better version of McKinley he doesn't really play tall for a player that is 192cms.

I don’t think he’s necessarily worth 2 first round draft pick, but I think that’s what it would take to convince Adelaide to trade him.

I know with Leigh Brown playing the football that he is ATM everybody probably thinks they can make a footballer out of anyone now but seriously is there a worse footballer in the AFL than Hawkins? The only thing he has going for him is that he plays for Geelong, he is soft, can't kick, can't mark and is slow.

It makes me laugh when people say that players playing for ordinary teams can't get a game for Geelong when Hawkins does. The main thing that ruined Hawkins career was Carroll getting the ass, he hasn't had a kick since.

I think that’s part of the Hawks problem. He is not a ruckman, leave him as a KPF and let him develop. Geelong will finish him if they think he can be a Leigh Brown type.

As odd as it sounds he's a dual premiership player that lack confidence and is still a touch over awed by his team mates.

Yeah I definitely agree that he would cost us overs. Although I'd seriously consider trading pick 12 in for him. Not with a player though.
Wouldn't think twice about giving Pick 12 + Bennell for Walker. Would even stretch it to Pick 12 + Jones if need be.

*And Andy Mac, I know its picky but Hawkins has only played in the one flag (2009). As for his ability, it seems as though he is being ruined by playing out of position. We've all seen how well Dunn has played as a permanent forward as opposed to forward/midfielder/tagger/ruckman. I think Hawkins would be the same in that true development would come if he was left in the forward 50, otherwise he will soon become SME Mk. II.

Are you kidding me?

Anthony as a very good contested mark. hahahha. Milller takes more contested marks then him. Granted he is a dead eye dick but He is a one trick pony. Short lead, mark and goal.

Great surprise packet when no one knew who he was but when backmen worked out how to cut off his leads, he was exposed in finals and he was exposed this year for his inability to provide anything else when he's one trick was covered.

didnt bennell sign at the same time with jurrah this year? Dont think he is going anywhere.

if we don't take a KPF/Ruckman with our first pick what are our thoughts on jayden pitt?? very impressive footskills and speed from all reports

please i think all clubs will learn from brisbane they signed bradshaw then pissed him off and he went away.

Doubt melbourne will be that stupid. Contracts unless other reasons unfortold will not be cancelled in the same year they are made.

I like Parker first, then Harper. Im sure one of them will be around if Lynch, Gorringe and Cook have been taken.

thats true if we go best available... i think pitt would be handy as a hbf/hff with excellent skills... IMO we need one of those

Good call PM - a quality Utility type who can go forward or back and pinch hit in the middle would be great for the coaching staff in terms of tactics on gamedays.

I did think Pettered or Garland could be that player for us but they seem to be settling into single roles.

Morton is the other swing-man who could come quite good imo - just needs more strength to take marks when he goes forward and he'd be excellent actually.

Knowing Prendergast tho he'll go best available if he cant find his tall - and Parker is a damaging attacking mid. Has that match turning quality that you cant teach. Just needs more consistancy at his best.

yeh i agree about Prendergast, maybe we could find a player like crocker for our 2nd or 3rd round pick (he is a bit unheralded as he didn't play Vic Metro, but he has a phenomenal left foot and has put in some very good performances in TAC Cup, as well as being invited to the Combine) if we can't can't Pitt

Parker looks excellent ill give you that

what about Tony Notte?

Is he wider than a matchstick yet? When he debuted against us I was concerned that he was going to be snapped in two a'la Bruce Reid in the 12th Man.
