It's a good team. O'Connor might not play a great deal, so look for a replacement there (Bird, Nabi, Henriques?). One note is that you're pretty short on BWL/BAT players, which could affect flexibility with trades and team setup in future rounds. 6 Thunder players is a lot, they'll have to play well in both their first two games for that to pay off. Good luck.
Thanks :) O'Connor was the very last player I added and was really only chosen as he seemed the best player I could afford with a double game coming up before having a bye. Henriques actually was the other player I considered, and would have preferred, but there seems to be doubt about his fitness. I agree 6 is probably one too many Thunder players. McKay was a late addition simply because I could afford him and he has the double game, but I may find a replacement. You're right about the lack of bat/bowl players too. Not sure how that happened. I had plenty in my initial team but managed to let them slip away unnoticed :D

Not bad at all. Neser, Archer, Hughes will be somewhat unique, but all solid choices. Just have to make sure you are set up to take advantage of future rounds.
thanks fu.

as far as structure goes does it look ok? byes and doubles seem almost more important than player selection.

What do people think of my team.
Think it’s a bit different from others.

Any obvious bad choices or blunders?

Can anyone give me an opinion of what they think of the team or any of the players in it?

Will be greatly appreciated

Also. How do you delete a team from a private league?

Your Captain has the bye first round [Perth] That leaves you with Nair to cover. Then you have a 0 for Johnson [Perth] as he has the bye as well. Thunder play twice in round one and that means you would have Watson and Nair only for extra points if they both play. I would look for another Thunder player at least and bring in Johnson in round 2 or you could do that with Dilley. Byes and double game rounds are crucial.

Should I swap McCullum for Buttler and move Abbott & Willey around.
Also unsure about Hughes.
What do you think. I’ll sort out my captain/vice captain later

Main issues:

KP will only play one game in the first 3 rounds, he's a no no. Nevill is unlikely to bat much, Carey/Inglis/Peirson/Ludeman/Wade probably better choices. McKay isn't in the Thunder's squad for game 1, so swap him out. Pollard isn't available until the Renegades 8th game (rd 9), swap him for Nabi. Looks like Bird will miss games as cover for the test squad, so can't pick him either. And in general you need to start with some more Brisbane and Perth players in preparation for their rd 2 doubles.

Hope that helps.

not enough R2 double gamers (Heat/Scorchers)
Stars have a bye R3 and dont double till R9 so 3 might be too many for now. Similar for Renegades who dont double till Rd10

disclaimer: im still learning this shit
Thanks gang

No - shoulder cooked.

Will be another BIG out for WA.

I'd say another out. Not quite a big out.

But cheers for the info, much appreciated

For those considering Mr Lynn

Brisbane Heat captain Brendon McCullum is leaning towards keeping Chris Lynn on ice, despite the explosive batsman tracking well ahead of schedule in his recovery from surgery.

The big-hitting Queenslander went under the knife in July after his third serious shoulder injury in the past two years, but has recovered well enough to be considered to play in the Heat's Big Bash League opener at the Gabba on Wednesday.

McCullum, who on Monday re-signed with the franchise for a further two years, described Lynn as "one of the biggest commodities in the game" but is hesitant of rushing the 27-year-old back into the side prematurely.

"He's one of the biggest excitement machines going around; he hits the ball miles, wins games single-handedly and the Brisbane Boss, as he is affectionately known amongst the team, is excited to be back," the captain said.

"We're hopeful (he'll play on Wednesday), but it's hard because you don't win the comp in December, you win it in mid January and we need him them."

The Brisbane product's BBL exploits propelled him into Australia's one-day side last summer, before a lingering neck injury crippled his rise.

While his six-hitting ability has earned him contracts with seven different T20 franchises around the world, Lynn also boasts a first class average of 43.50 and highest score of 250.

Lynn chose to forgo a Queensland Bulls contract this season as he recovered from surgery, with injuries keeping him to sporadic long-format appearances in recent years.

But McCullum said when fit there were no limits for his teammate.

"Absolutely (he should be considered for higher honours); the Australian team is playing well in Test cricket at the moment at home but he is a guy who can play well all around the world and is wanted all around the world."

"It's up to the selectors, but to me he's one of the best cricketers in the world."

McCullum pointed to Gold Coast teenager Max Bryant as a possible replacement if Lynn is not selected to play against the Stars, while dropped Test opener Matt Renshaw is another top-order option in the squad.
