Its still commercialising something sacrosanct that we still aren't allowed to wear.
Get the PBs on the players and then think about novelties and gimmicks.
That image looks like the Collingwood stripes anyway.
Talking about selling your soul for a few bucks, my favourite is....... {drumroll}
—SING FOR YA SUPPER—
“Here we go, here we go Camry Crows
Here we go, here we go, here we go
We’ll be there in the square nose to nose
Revvin’ hard til the siren goes
We’re the new boys with so much to show
Bringin’ greetings from ever-lovin’ Adelaide
Gonna tread on a few people’s toes
‘Cause here we go, here we go Camry Crows”
Oh what a feeling!

Exactly. That's what I was talking about.Purple striped buckets at the Big Bash in Launceston last night for the Hobart Hurricanes v Strikers game.
I don't really disagree, I was more pointing out that the discussion was about KFC buckets as opposed to red & white PB's for a sponsor.
I will say that the more visual PB's are with us the more accepted they become (regardless of consistent wearing of them for premiership points). Its why the idea of team photos, jumper presentations etc. hold water in the interim, much like this does. Make the PB's synonymous with us again and the argument to wearing them goes away.

Not by changing them it doesn’t, it plays right into Eddie’s hands. If we’re happy to add red in for a few bucks, why not teal then? Problem solved hey. That’s all folks.
It’s just an AWFUL idea. This whole conversation is starting to remind me (in a very unsettling way) of a couple years back when people floated the idea of co-captains on here and it seemed like a joke. I didn’t think the Club could possibly be that stupid but they were and it was a disaster.
If they’ve learned anything from that experience they will not piss on another club icon. But if they do, and ignore the almost unanimous will of the members again, it would be the most disgustingly arrogant display from a club executive anywhere. If they thought the backlash was big last time lol. They’ll be praying for the sun to supernova if they do this.
Yeh, that was what I was saying. Im all for Black & White KFC buckets on the heads of kids in the crowd (which look like PB's when upside down) but at no point can it be anything other than black & white.
Its about making the PB's Port Adelaide again and the more visual we can be the better (whilst also appeasing a sponsor) but if they say do a red & white jumper they can jump.
Sorry I misread your post. I’m not sure about the bucket idea, I’d like to keep the PBs in the “hallowed turf” zone as our sacred thing, at least until we have some autonomy over them. I mean it’s not a heinous idea like the red PBs absolutely is but I’d prefer for the guernsey itself to do the heavy lifting. The team photo idea is a great one, more of that.
Lets say the AFL don't let us wear the PBs in the crows home showdown.Absolutely. I just think it is inevitable that we get Port colour buckets at the footy now so lets make a somewhat tacky situation into a visual show of force for the PB's. Ticks off two things we are all championing for in aiding the return of the PB's and showing value to our sponsors because god knows we work hard to attract them.

And the more Eddie arks up the betterLets say the AFL don't let us wear the PBs in the crows home showdown.
Not all 7,000 - 10,000 Port supporters attending will be wearing PB's, but if 2,000+ are wearing PB styled buckets on their heads, who are the cameras more likely to focus on when Port kicks a goal?? Its about a visual impact for both Port and KFC.
Same when we play Collingwood. KFC just have to make sure their guerilla marketing division is cranked up for those games.
Literally no one is suggesting red and white prison bars. Not by changing them it doesn’t, it plays right into Eddie’s hands. If we’re happy to add red in for a few bucks, why not teal then? Problem solved hey. That’s all folks.

Aparently there are plans to wear red and white prison bars during sponsor round? Someone should leak that to Eddie
