Wow @ the stories involving the wicked wings and the gravy. I am surprised they are allowed to get away with it.

Instant mash potato.

And the gravy is made from the oil crap left at the bottom of the cookers when they are cleaned out everyday. Not very appetising at all. I've never eaten it and I never will.
Just increased my liking for it 10 fold.:thumbsu::D

Everyone go to red rooster!

Uh uh. I got a 1/2 chicken and was half way through before I found black gizzards still stuck to the rib cage. Was willing to give it another go, we all make mistakes after all, but when I found the exact same thing on the next 1/2 I gave up on Red Rooter for good :thumbsd:

Ive noticed that KFC have changed suppliers in regards to their chicken. They used to have Steggles and Ingham as there suppliers now they have some other company now I wonder why?

Also their Mashies are out again

The prices are definatly dear though and the quality of the food varies from store to store I went to a KFC in Toowoomba and the Chicken was dry as anything and it had very little grease on it :thumbsd: I've been to one in Kingaroy to and it covered in Grease and the Chicken was nice. Although I dont like heaps of grease on my KFC it seems to taste that bit better than it does without it been covered in it.

Different chefs?:D

A snack box is probably the only most reasonable priced thing. Is usually enough to satisfy me for lunch and is only $3.25. Plus you get variety of chicken and chips.

Haha well its better than just getting a burger for $5 and having to fork out extra for chips. What if you want a bit of both? :p

Ultimate Burger Meal FTW!

Burger, Piece of Chicken, Chips, Potato gravy, roll and a drink. :thumbsu:

Or you could go the "Dinner For Two" meal, destroy it, then feel like shit for the rest of the day! :D

The only 'food' from KFC I used to eat was the bacon chicken burgers. Well overpriced, though, and it seems it's got worse since I left Australia.

Kudos to poster who commented on fast food in Asia. Food seems fresher, tastes better, and is a whole lot cheaper.

The new KFC monster burger that uses two slabs of fried chicken in place of bread buns has gone on sale in the US to the dismay of nutrition experts.

The "Double Down Chicken Sandwich" contains two slices of bacon, pepper jack cheese, swiss cheese and sauce, wrapped between two fillets of chicken.

Would you eat this burger? Have your say here.

A television advertising campaign bills the US$4.99 ($6.00) Double Down as "so much 100 percent premium chicken, we didn't have room for a bun".

A spokesman for the Australian arm of KFC did not rule out the burger being sold locally in the future.

Ninemsn contacted a KFC store in Omaha, Nebraska, where an employee said sales of the Double Down had exceeded expectations.

But the burger, which does not appear on KFC's official website, has raised the ire of health experts.

"The world does not need [these burgers]," top Australian nutritionist Dr Rosemary Stanton said.

"These sorts of burgers have become a rite of passage for kids and young men ... but pity about your arteries, your waistline and your chin."

Burgers such as the Double Down made a mockery of fast food chains' persistent claims to provide healthy and balanced menus, Dr Stanton said.

Online food forums have been flooded with both criticism and support for the burger.

"Wow, I couldn't believe that American fast food has sunk this low," wrote one person on foodgeekery.com.

But another wrote: "Oh … oh my God. That is the best thing ever."

"I don't know what 'Colonel's Sauce' is, but it is like a party in my mouth."

Another person said he recently received an invitation to complete an online survey on the Double Down in exchange for US$10 KFC voucher.

KFC in Australia today issued a statement saying "we don't have this product in our plans at present".

Asian KFC sucks compared to australian KFC. Chicken and chips both too dry IMO.

Fair play on the chips, but the original recipe chicken is far superior to the sloppy crap that Aus KFC serves up. That's why I usually went with hot and spicy back home, because it wasn't floating in a pool of grease.

As for the Maccas and Subway, no contest, Japan hands down.

Maccas i've found is about the same, but cheaper. More variety?
And Subway is good, if you can find one. How many are there??? I've only seen one in 5 months...

Yeah Subway is hard to find. I know where there's one in Himeji and one in Osaka. I tend to go there because it's the only place I know to get decent bread in Japan. Well, that and Starbucks, but that place is well overpriced.
