all fast food is overpriced for what it is.........as much as i like nandos the chicken is farcially small now for what you pay....i remember the wings being huge. had kfc at the casino 5am sunday morning but i dont eat it too much due to feeling like shit every time i do

i reckon they could charge 10 bucks for a box of mashies and i'd still buy them when hungover/drunk

I've found a better alternative to the KFC hangover cure munchies.

Potato Mash (with Garlic, S&P, and dash of Milk).
Onions (thinly sliced rings, pan-fried), in a brown-onion gravy.
Small can of Baked Beans.

Combine all three. Heat and stir. Enjoy. Put $10 towards next weekend's bender.

Combined with 1/2 a grilled chicken-breast, and "spiced toast" it's full KFC, without the fat or calories, at a fraction the cost.

(spiced bread just a dry spice mix of salt, pepper, paprika, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, etc - or whatever is handy.)

Agree, KFC is very expensive. Even McDonlalds is creeping up and up in price.

What I do when I want takeaway I usually head to my local Thai restaraunt. Absolutely awesome food, I can pick up 3 items usually for $20 all up, plus it lasts me for two dinners/nights. :thumbsu:

How the shit are you capable of doing that when hungover?

Cook steak and onions with tater mash before big night on the grog.

Next day, leftover onion gravy, left over mash, open can of BB.

In container, stir. Microwave (stop before dinger dings). Stir.

Eat.

Chicken's a bit harder - maybe try that for tea after you've slept all afternoon.

A friend of mine used to manage there when she was at uni. They used to access the "emergency" chicken once every 2-3 weeks (pre-prepared frozen). Apparently it's now a daily occurence. Obviously in your case that was exhausted too.

One time my local KFC ran out of chicken. The girl who served me told me they were down to like 10 pieces of orignial chicken.

And no I am not joking!!!!

Would have been damn funny to see them tell people they are out of chicken.
Re Rooster run out of chicken every so often. They normally only cook 5 or so at a time to keep them fresh, and if someone comes in and orders 2 or 3 whole chicksn they're screwed cause it takes an hour to cook some more :p

Hahaha, yup she said ALL their chicken was almost gone, as well as the frozen stuff.

I remember the day, was one of those stinking hot days so I guess no one wants to cook, hence more people at KFC and other outlets, lol.

Hahaha classic... ive never had any problem with Red Rooster.. only the wait time in the line. For some reason they are so slow.

Bumping to whine.

Occasionally I will get a large KFC chips to go with my steak and vegetables for dinner. But in the space of 3-4 years, the portions have been getting smaller and the price has risen from:

$2.95
$3.45
$3.95
$4.25

and as of last night, now $4.75!

Yes, it will be the last time I get KFC chips.

Prices are rising all over the fast food joints.
Not worth it.

Nandos has also gone up in price to overpriced levels. Paid $17 for a regular pita meal.
I can eat cheaper in restaurants that serve better quality food.
Yeah, Nando's is overpriced for a fast food chain. If they were priced around the likes of KFC / Hungry Jacks, with a small premium of $1 or $2 they'd be probably the only fast food I'd have 95% of the time. With their 50% - 100% price premium I barely go there though. Agree that at those prices you are hitting the low end restaurant price ranges.

Nando's is expensive but it's higher quality than your average fast food joint.

KFC is ridiculously overpriced for what it is - 3 pieces of original chicken, a burger, chips, drink and gravy can set you back $18. :thumbsd:

WTF? This sounds like one of those value meals which were like $10 last time I went to a kfc.

Nah, the ultimate burger meal costs $10 for regular ($2 upsize?) but only comes with the 1 piece of original chicken. Now that I think about it, an Ultimate burger meal + 2 pieces of chicken probably works out slightly cheaper than a zinger combo, gravy and 3 pieces of chicken.

Ugh. I haven't had KFC in years now.

I do enjoy the Mcdonald frappe drink and the chicken and cheese burger. I don't eat their cow hide meat though. It's awful.

I much prefer Oporto.
