I just got my first footy, but I can't seem to inflate it with a standard American needle. Do I need a special type of needle, or is there something wrong with the ball?

If you take it to the air pump down at your local service station you wont even need a needle. Just hold the pump nozzle tightly over the hole and give it a rip.
If it still doesn't work it's busted.
