Well to clarify then. I'm not talking about players being talked up, I'm talking about players being reamed because they don't measure up in their first year or even their second.

Cool.

I'm just ever the optimist because I grew up with a father that's around your vintage who unfortunately is just about the greatest pessimist you could ever meet when it comes to the Pies (due to the unfortunate heartbreak he's had to deal with).

So I'm sorry for thinking you might be of a similar faith and therefore took unkindly to me talking up the potential of Yag's so much.

As is often the case people tend to tread a different path to their parents so I'll very rarely plough through a Collingwood player :thumbsu:

Though S Buckley really does push my limits.....

Fair do dog :thumbsu:

Whenever I see any of the young blokes struggling I remember a young bloke by the name of Toovey and a certain North Melbourne reject big man and my faith is restored ;):D

Mooney could even debut in his first year... his gonna be soemthing i reckon

I know he's only played a handful of Aussie rules games, let alone AFL but the kid has taken to the game like Matt Rendell to a Clan meeting.

Given we've lost 2 small forwards for the year, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Mooney debut this year. On a side note, did Marty Clarke debut in his 1st year with us? I think he did but not 100% sure.

Paine will play round 1. Paine and Travis as permanent forwards while Dawes plays Key forward and back up ruck. I can see Paine maybe completing with Wood for the extra position in the 22. If Wood comes in, obviously he becomes back up ruck instead of Dawes.

I think we've done exellently with this draft bunch... mooney witts paine yagmoor. Last year was a bit disappointing. as i've said, i doubt thomas sinclair ugle will make it

Thomas and Sinclair were drafted in a different year to Ugle.

Thomas and Sinclair were 2009 draft. But yes 2010 draft I see as a bit of a dive except for Fasolo and Seedsman.

Ugle, Stubbs, Farmer all won't make it.

Ceglar was part of the Krakouer trade so he doesn't really count.

This year however I am enjoying. All the draft picks except for Gault are showing more than the 2009 and 2010 draft (once again, except for Fas).

I still think Ugle can make it, Sinclair I agree will never amek it and Josh Thomas is just Injured all the time:(

Clarke did debut in his first year. He only missed a handful of games after that until his last game where he got injured and went back to the VFL/Ireland.

I wouldn't be too surprised if Mooney played this season as well, although I'm not expecting much from him this year.

Mooney is one of the brightest prospects from last year's draft. Paine looks good, Yagmoor will be fine and Clarke has picked up where he left off. Ceglar will be a useful ruckman/forward down the track. Last year's picks have definitely shown more ability than the previous two year's.
