Not just any old rookie pick either. He was the last player selected in 2005 - all the players listed after him in the official draft list were zone priority picks, actually selected at the start of that rookie draft.

We also have the penultimate player picked in that rookie draft now on our list and he's going pretty well too.
Very true liz, and there were some other pretty strong players picked up in that rookie draft. Hawthorn gave Gilham a 2nd chance, as did Port with Tom Logan who is now a regular for them. Fremantle also re-selected Paul Duffield. Also picked up were Matthew Priddis, Alan Toovey, Heath Hocking and Angus Graham who are all best 22 players with their respective clubs.

But we definitely wouldn't be complaining about either of the last 2 picks from that draft who've ended up with us now. I know we passed on the rookie draft last season, with the exception of pre-listing McNeil, but I don't think we'll do the same this season. There is a lot of depth in the 2010 draft and we are likely to be delisting 2 or more of our current rookies. As the above guys have shown, lots of high quality AFL players can still be picked up inthe rookie draft.

Hmmm, yes, a little-known fact, and one that should be mentioned at least as often as "Daniel Hannebery, Xavier College boy".

Talking about Xavier, who knows the other 2 Swans players who played against Hawthorn from Xavier according to Tim Lane "right in the middle of Hawthorn territory "

Don't get to supervised by it Tiger, It's entirely possible;e that 3 Xavs boys in the same team is not a record. They are a big football school.

We've also got 3 Parade College boys on our list as well I think, Currie, Meredith and Vez?

Garry Jack was my favourite player growing up,all my tigers gerseys have the number 1,I started following the swans in 89 but I still love the Balmain Tigers/Wests Tigers.Kieren reminds me so much of his Dad,the way he moves and has the pedigree to become a very very good player for the bloods

Captain and a Brownlow Medalist in the next few years

BOOK MARK IT!

His old man won the Golden Boot (1989) so it'd be nice for Kieran to match it with a Brownlow. Very talented family. Great player. I hope we get his brother too.
