I am actually a fan of Kim and have followed her for a number of years.
This thread was triggered by her poor form in the first set, but has more to do with the way she has choked over her career. Unforced errors generally sky rocket in the big games. BTW a quarter final is not a big game, her next one against Sharapova is a big game.
The French Open final, Aussie Open semi against Serena... the list goes on.
FWIW I hope she wins it this year. She has the game but gets far too tight when it is on the line.

She was just outplayed today... pity.
Wouldn't call it a choke, but she is definitely someone who plays their best tennis when cruising.
Apply pressure or a big occasion and nerves tend to get the better of her.
Two great examples were the French Open final she threw away, and the Aussie Open loss to Williams a couple of years ago.
Had both games well and truly in the bag and simply tightened up.
