THE partner of Collingwood’s Adam Treloar will move to Queensland after signing with the Queensland Firebirds.

Star centre Kim Ravaillion has agreed to a 10-month contract with the Brisbane-based Suncorp Super side, paving the way for a unique 2021 for the professional athlete couple.

Treloar will stay back in Melbourne where he will play for Collingwood again next season.

It’s understood Ravaillion’s pending move to Queensland to resume her netball career has prompted questions around Treloar’s future, but the midfielder remains steadfast in wanting to stay with the Pies.

Ravaillion will have family support in Brisbane, with her mum to temporarily move interstate to help out in what is a family decision.

Treloar and Ravaillion are both managed Tim Hazell of Vivid Sport Management, with the former Hawk a critical piece in the arrangement.

Ravaillion, who has represented the Australian Diamonds at international level, started her career with the Firebirds before becoming a foundation player for the Collingwood Magpies in 2017.

She sat out the 2020 season for the birth of her daughter.

Think its good for us tbh

12 months in the making

The Suns had preliminary discussions with Treloar and Collingwood about a possible move last year when there was an approach then for Ravaillion to sign with the Firebirds.

Those discussions had not advanced far when Ravaillion fell pregnant. She consequently did not move north and sat out the 2020 netball season.

Not a Good Look for our Netball Team with her Fiance playing for the Footy Team but she still Left
not really. One is separate from another. She was a netballer first. She has to think of her career. Our netball team just isn't that good right now. She has every right to seek better opportunity for a chance to be chosen for the national team.

The reality is that the build of the Magpies Netball team was stuffed from the start. It was built with a team of champions with no thought on the team aspect and it was also built that if we didn’t get instant success we weren’t going to get it. The team had holes and the coaching wasn’t great. The only two players that have improved in our system are Ash Brazil and Matilda Garrett and it could be argued that As’s improvement comes from being a duel sports player.

At 26-27 Kim’s probably only got a few good years of netball in her especially if her and Adam decide to have another child. So she’s not going to want to waste them at a team that’s going to be building from the ground up. Especially as her career really stalled at the Magpies particularly where her rep career is concerned.
