Aologies if this is already dsicussed, but I dont see ANY MENTION of one S King being left out and the way the GFC proceeded to DOMINATE out of the middle. I know Richmond turned into rabble at ten minutes into the first quarter, but still.......?

I think it was a combination of factors, of which King was one.
Otto and Blake were clearly winning the taps, and for the first time this year, Blake's were mostly going to teammates, rather than the opposition.
Another difference was that Joel Corey seemed to spend a lot more time in the centre as opposed to the back flank which is where Bomber has played him recently. He demonstrated once again that he is good at getting clearances.
Also, Gaz Jr was having a ripper of a night. He would have been getting clearances even with King there probably!
And another thing, Richmond were simply awful, so King may well have dominated anyway.

But overall, while it may not have totally vindicated the decision, it certainly doesn't help his cause to work his way back into the side.

Noticed something else as well - Blake and Selwood. Looked like they were telepathically linked and reading each other like a book. Could just be me though...........

Like i said on another thread, the best thing for King is to spend atleast the next 4-6 weeks in the two's regardless if he dominates in that time.He needs time out on the ground for his confidence and fitness, it's a problem when neither of our ruckmen are in form but i think it's a bigger problem when there all in form.....
Unofficial source on the eagles thread says Cox maybe in some doubt for this sunday !?!?

i didnt think they would drop king before the game. ive taken notice of mark blake the last few weeks. thought he was good to have there to give a contest at the bounce but after seeing him on sunday he could develop into a good ruckman.
not sure if you really need king at all. be interesting to see what happens to him at the end of the year.

Could King return if Egan does not come up, thus re-jigging our talls structure?

Not saying yes or no to either, just throwing it into the open.

Doubt that for sure. Geelong will get rolled if we go in with 1 tall defender.

Milburn or Mackie aren't tall enough to take Hansen.

Have you heard any reports regarding Egan?

I haven't - just know he has some knee troubles. Tudor didn't give much away on SEN today.

I can't even remember the incident.

He had a ice pack on his thigh. Was reported in the Age as a corky. And may be in doubt.

He copped it in that contest where bartel went back with the pack in the 2nd qtr.

Thanks for clearing that up. Was in standing room and saw strapping on his leg and the eyes obviously deceived me :o

Bartel going back into a pack? Surely you jest! ;)

He is the most courageous going around.

Dont no you remember when goodes won mark of the year with that mark going into the pack.

Bartel did a similar one that same round (against the dogs) which i thought was better.

Haven't seen someone with that much guts in so long. Got money on him for the brownlow :thumbsu:
