I may be missing something here - what was the incident King got fined for? Surely not the one that Waite got the reprimand for? If so, will the club appeal?

Really !!!??? I'm all for stamping out the behind the scenes hits etc But the only way Kingy could have been more gentle would be if he hugged and kissed him on the cheek and even then it would be a very close call
 
What did Waite get when he back-heeled McGuane in the ghoolies a few seasons ago?

I guess Kingy got off for putting his arm around their captain and tapping him on the chest. Be thankful we dodged a bullet on that one........
 
He got done for being in an incident that was being looked at for the other guy.

But having seen him make contact with the foot, they had to 'do' him....even though the same thing probably happens when players are held down in almost every match.
 
I reckon he was lucky actually. Whether you like or not, he lashed out with his foot. That's not on. Yes, the contact was minimal, but the intent and the look was not good.

Yeah, but then he would have been for kicking rather than misconduct and copped weeks. The MRP is playing politics here...they saw contact with the foot, so couldn't let it go, but knew that if they went hard on that, they'd have to do it all the time when players are held down and struggle to get free and make contact. Not wanting to open that can of worms, they went as soft as they could.

Any punishment would have been worth it though
 
Seriously, boys, this was a fair cop.

Kingy kicked at an opposing player with the sole of his boot --sure he didn't make contact with the face (although Waite seems not to have noticed this ;)) but there is a possibility he might have, and that makes the action somewhat reckless.

Arguing that he didn't make serious contact and all that is all fair and proper, but realize that this is precisely the reason he got of with such a minor penalty.

I think the "punishment" (and it wasn't much of a punishment) pretty much fit the crime.

It might be a fair cop, but what grates is that it's an inconsistent cop.

It is? I haven't seen anyone else kick a vagina on a footy field before, so hard to compare. :p
 
No issue with the fine, he did ty to kick him
 
King probably deserved it but was definitely a bit unlucky his incident was caught on camera.

At the game, I saw a few incidents like that during stoppages - just part of the game (the niggle).

I love how Waite got off for his malicious donkey kick on McGuane but got reprimanded for his terrible acting. Not sure if he is closer to winning the rising star or winning an oscar - either seem a bit far out of his reach given his limited talents. :drunk:
