Just got gifted this by my brother and installing now to play tomorrow. Thread here has my hopes high.

I did buy the first one ages ago on a steam sale but will jump straight into this.

How are you finding it?

I just did the wedding quest so I'm still pretty early in the game but I am used to it now, it can be quite intimidating (not since The Witcher 2 had I felt so overwhelmed with an rpg) to start with but like others said you do settle in and can cruise after a while.

Started again on the weekend after about a month or so off. Like what they've done with the recent big patch - have explained a few things easier. Also thought it was a nice touch that it welcomed me back and said it had been a while and reminded me where the tutorials were in case I needed a refresher.

I'm at the point now where I've done the majority of side quests, have found/bought all the best gear, have more money than I can spend and am very close to maxxing out the character - wish there was a way to keep track of who I've bought all the lessons off. (Actually that reminds me the gay hermit still has some lessons I can learn when I work out how to go back to the old map)

The reason I'm saying that is now I'm just cruising through the main story and dropping enemies like they're peasants. Feels like going through the motions a bit but still enjoyable. Look forward to wrapping it up very soon.

Haven't played as much as I would like, got a new puppy so been more relegated to gaming on my steamdeck and have this on my main PC.

From what I have played though, really like what I'm seeing. I love any game where decisions are meaningful and it felt that way from the get go.

Finally finished this last night, took me a while but rarely get time to game for long stints so every time I did get to play this it was only for 30mins to 1hr.

All I can say is it’s a bloody brilliant game and my GOTY easily so far. Everything about this game is so well done, I get the combat isn’t for everyone but once you get the hang of it it’s really cool and rewarding. Great story, fantastic side quests, loved exploring the world as well. 9.5/10 for me.

Oscar Allen now promoting video games?

Okay so I'm a few hours into this. I'm definitely immersed. I definitely got super frustrated a few times.

You feel as though you're about to finish a quest and the game piles on about 5 more objectives for you. I ended up on a quest and night time hit and couldn't see where I was going, so went home to sleep only to be jumped by a bandit on the way, die and lose my progress.

Later on I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to equip a torch, was arrested by guards because apparently you can't walk around without one at night.

Despite all this I'm eager to keep playing. I'm guessing that's the charm with this game.

Got it in one, it's trying to be as real as possible whilst still being a fun game so in the case of a torch for example, if you're out and about at night without one, the locals and constabulary will assume you are out to do no good, and avoid or round you up. Same reason you can't just walk up to someone and punch them in the face for no good reason. I mean you can, but it won't end well as uncivilised barbarian.

Also why some of us loved the first and loved this one, that immersion just gets you and you can tell the developers put love into it. Warhorse dun good with Henry and the world feels lived in as opposed to tacked on.
